Zelitch motion to beging meeting; J. Lafond 2nd; unanimous Hearing for certificate to alter at 54 Elm St. 6:01 pm J. Lafond motion to begin hearing, T. True 2nd; unanimous Stephanie Viera, property owner; Amauris Ovalles, Metro General Contractors. A. Ovalles said the same posts will stay, will use the same roof to create a laundry room. Same footprint, same exterior siding for exterior finish. T. True asked if there would be concrete pads?A. Ovalles said no. J. Lafond asked if there were any issues with reinforcing the room in case it sags. A. Ovalles said he hadn't looked at that but didn't think so. J. Lafond asked if there was currently clapboard on the side? A. Ovalles said he will use the same wood or vinyl siding if it matches. J. Lafond said unless there was significant damage to siding, would want that preserved. So would probably want cedar siding, not vinyl. J. Lafond asked which company made the window? S. Viera said Pro Edge and they can't find a replacement. J. Lafond would want to do best to match the size, grid and material of existing windows. B. Zelitch and T. True agree. T. True: what use for a faux chimney? A. Ovalles: tilted, needs replacement. He would take measurements, knock down, then have a structural engineer to mimic the chimney. Will use brick panels to have a "chimney look." This will make more room in the property. J. Lafond: ask structural engineer to see if the current chimney could be saved. Have to come back anyway with the faux brick samples. Could be less work and cheaper. A. Ovalles: will speak to engineers and see if they can brace a little more. J. Lafond: will have a continuation on the chimney, pending the structural engineer. J. Lafond motion to allow for the closeout of the side porch to create a laundry area using cedar clapboard. T. True 2nd; unanimous Certificate to alter at 179-181 Main St. Nobody showed for hearing. Not here to request continuance. J.
