I have not completed my review of this proposal fret but I d
have several comments. Soil conditions at this site are poor,
only one potential site large enough to consider for sewage
disposal, was found in 24 acres . If the septic system is not
designed to handle the flows these apartments generate there
will not be much room for repairs. The biggest problem with
septic systems .i handling the high peak flows that condo-
miniums and apartments generate , most of the inhabitants use
water at the same time so the system must every out the flow,
that part of the system will receive careful review.
State law requires leach areas to be enlarged 50% if garbage
grinders are used, I can ' t think of condos or apartments any-
where that do not have garbage grinders. `here will have to
be specific rules against garbage grinders in the condominium
documents or the loach area will have to be increased 50 I
prefer the Larger septic system because the common practise
with houses is to specify "no garbage grinders allowed" on the
plan and then install them later any .
The sewer lines will be deep enough in many place that the
infiltration of groundwater could be a problem. I will be
seeking further advice on this matter from the Department of
Public 'forks . Infiltration is an extra burden on pumps and
leach areas and must be dealt with.
