HomeMy WebLinkAbout2025-04-02 Historical Commission Minutes North Andover Historical Commission April 2, 2025 meeting Present: Ron Rudis (chair),Jim Wefers, Stan Limpert,Jay Dowd,Anne Ericson 1. Meeting called to order at 5:10 pm. 2. There were no public comments 3. There were two pieces of correspondence discussed: a. An email from Joanna Kerr regarding 169 Johnson Street (Col James Frye house).Jay Dowd explained that Joanna misunderstood a conversation that he had with her where he stated that a demolition permit application was anticipated.The Chair will reply to the email clarifying this and answering other questions from the email. b. An email from Helen Mooradkarian wrt an April 8 Zoning Board of Appeals meeting regarding a variance to convert a residence at 45 Third Street to multiple units.The Commission discussed the property but had not had time to review the history of the property.The Chair would not be able to attend the April 8 meeting, he invited other Commission members to attend if they feel that the property is of historical significance. 4. The Commission reviewed the historical preservation applications that were approved by the CPC for FY16. 5. The Commission reviewed the use of the OBG for North Andover Witchcraft History Tour on June 28, Aug. 16, Sept. 13, October 4, and October 18 2025. Limpert made a motion, seconded by Webb to approve the tours. Approved 5-0. 6. Jay Dowd provided an update from the February 19, 2025 meeting of the North Andover District Commission. 7. Limpert made a motion, seconded by Wefers to approve the February 12, 2025 meeting minutes. Approved 5-0. 8. The Commission had a brief discussion of next steps regarding having trees removed from the OBG. 9. Stan Limpert informed the Commission that the final draft of the Historical Preservation Plan would be presented at the April 14, 2025 meeting of the Select Board.
