To: Scott Stocking, Town Planner From: Fire Chief Dolan Re: Modifications to Definitive Plan-Jerad Place II Date: September 2, 1987 I have reviewed the revised plan dated August 21 , 1987 and my comments of my letter dated May 11 , 1987 are still applicable. Particularly item #10 in addition to the following: 1 . The water main on Jerad Place should be connected to the existing water main on Forest Street in order to provide for a looped system. 2 . As a matter of public safety I strongly recommend the installation of residential sprinkler systems for all dwelling units in the subdivision. 3 . The creation of any common drives for this subdivision would be opposed by the Fire Department. 4 . Street signs approved by the Department of Public Works shall be placed at the intersections of Jerad Place and Forest Street and Jerad Place and Candlestick Road. I intend to be at your September 14 meeting. William V. Two catch basins should be added at intersection of Forest St. and Jerad Place Road. Two more catch basins at the intersection of Jerad Place Road and Candlestick Rd. An additional catch basin should be installed at intersection of Candlestick Rd. and Sugar Cane Rd. Existing manhole at that location to be changed to catch basin. 2. Granite curb should be used on all grades exceeding 5%. 3. Culdesacs should be paved 120, radius and centered on a straight line from incoming road. They are bad enough without being off set. 4. Drainage Easements to run continuous throughout the subdivision. 5. All drainage discharges to have headwalls as per Division of Public Works specifications. 6. No 'Town service will be provided to this subdivision until binder coat of hottop is applied and road surface is free of excavations or any other problems that may cause damage to town equipment. I will be at your meeting Monday evening to discuss this matter further if you wish. Very truly yours, a William A.
