Dear Board Members ,
11 am writing to you today as a supportive neighbor of Brandon and Rachel
James of 19 Surrey Drive in North Andover, MA. I wish to express my full
support re: their variance request to expand with a detached garage. I have
lived across the street at 10 Surrey Drive for 30 years with my wife Lynn and our
family.
I feel this variance is justified and necessary due to the unique hardship that
applies to their property, specifically the loss of privacy and increase in noise.
Hundreds of mature trees that once buffered them from the busy airport and
roadway were torn down to be replaced by a massive senior center and
apartment complex.
I believe this variance request will lessen their hardship. The proposed project,
as planned, will not negatively impact the character of our neighborhood and
will not cause any negative consequences to the neighboring properties
including ours. We are blessed to have Brandon and Rachel's beautiful family
living across the street.
I urge the planning board to approve this variance request. I thank you for your

To the Members of the Zoning Board of Appeals:
We are writing in support of our neighbors, Brandon and Rachel,James of 19 Surrey Drive,
regarding their petition for a variance to construct a 14x3O foot,garage on their property.
As fellow residents of Surrey Drive, we understand their need for additional,privacy and
noise abatement from both the senior center parking lot and Sutton Street.The proposed
garage would serve as a meaningful buffer from,the activity and noise in that area,
improving,not only their quality of life but also enhancing the overall peace and enjoyment
of their home. In addition, we appreciate their desire for more storage space, which is a
reasonable and practical need: for a growing family.,
Brandon and Rachel have been thoughtful and respectful neighbors, and we are confident
they gill approach this project with, care for the surrounding properties and neighborhood.
We believe the requested variance will have a positive impact on their property and will not
negatively affect the character of our neighborhood.
For these reasons,we respectfully ask the Board to grant their request for the side setback
relief.
