Attendance:
Members Present: Lucius Michel {Chair}, George Kangos {Vice Chair}, Quentara Costa {Secretary}, Maria Rosati,
Patricia Riley, David VanArsdale, Anthony Petronio, Eileen Elliot, Wendy Venti,
Jennifer Abou-ezzi
Absent: Joan Thompson, Remo Zimbaldi, Allen Naffah
Others Present: Kathy Shelp, Director of Senior Center; Cahla Ahlstrom, Outreach Manager
Call to order: 9:07 AM
Roll call by Lucius Michel
Minutes: Review of December 2025. Motion to approve by Dave. Seconded by Tony. Unanimously approved.
General Discussion:
Discussion about creating continuity for future members and chairs of COA. Finding the best centralized location
for by-laws and process documents that can be viewed and handed over.
Review 2022 Bylaws and see if any small updates should be named. Noted a couple spots where terminology
could be adjusted and linking to process that’s better detailed elsewhere.
Pass around current enrollments for various working group. Members asked to confirm, remove, or add their
names to the various groups.
Dave updated board that Pat Jehlen is retiring from the state, she was a huge advocate for elder services and affairs
in the state.
Update from Kathy Shelp, update on Senior Center:
Update on how the new procedure on attendance is being received by the community at large.
No changes to the procedure at this time but they are open to making changes if necessary.
Kathy would like a working group discussion about usage of the building, especially for outside parties unrelated
to normal operations, we’ll follow up with her on who would like to participate.
Review of town budget for senior center YTD 2026 and estimates for FY 2027.
2 new hires, Kate and Ken.
Adjournment at 10:15 A.M. Motion to adjourn by Dave, seconded by Tony. Unanimously agreed.
