Dear Ms. Enright and Members of the Planning Board,
We are in receipt of a comment memo prepared by John Borgesi, Assistant DPW Director/Town Engineer dated
April 2, 2024 for the above referenced project. We have reproduced Mr. Borgesi's comment below in italics with
our response following in bold.
1. Comment: The applicant has indicated that the Lease Area where the new hangars are proposed is
currently paved and impervious and stormwater runoff is currently being collected by a catch basin that
discharges to a closed drainage system that outlets to an isolated wetland area located approximately
350 feet to the west of the Lease Area. A site map should be provided showing the proposed Lease Area,
the closed drainage system, and the isolated wetland area where this stormwater currently and is
proposed to be discharged. Furthermore, the applicant should indicate where this isolated wetland
drains to and show where it discharges to downstream if it has an outlet.
Response: A site map, showing a larger portion of the airport at a larger scale is attached to this
response memo. As stated in the initial submittal, the hangars are proposed in a location of the
airport which is currently entirely paved; the hangars proposed in this location will not increase
the rate or volume of runoff from stormwater. The provided site map shows how the drainage in
this location of the airport is currently configured,which in general, is captured by catch basins
and discharged to an isolated vegetated wetland (IVW) within the airport. This IVW has two
catch basins at the end which serves as an outlet that eventually discharges to a headwall and
intermittent stream which runs around the runway and to the north.
