Message Planning Board Members,
Thank you for allowing the abutters to the North Andover High
School track to ask questions during the public comment phase
of the meeting. I appreciated your openness to having a
conversation about the proposal in an inclusive manner.
did want to thank you for the discussion the Board had
regarding the safety of accessing the tennis courts. I am a
former parent of a tennis team player and found that crossing
over from the baseball field side of the road to the tennis courts
was a bit concerning due to the sharp curve in the road so
support for any future signage and well marked crosswalk is
greatly appreciated.
spoke with Steve Nugent today and mentioned to him that one
point that the Planning Board may not be aware of regarding
converting the lower field from grass to turf is that this particular
field has a history of serving as a stop over for migrating geese.
Because of this, the field is often covered with bird feces. The
school department has tried to mitigate this health issue, but
the birds continue to return year after year. Converting the field
to turf would eliminate the geese problems.
hope that the Planning Board is able to schedule a site visit
and I look forward to discussing ways to minimize the impact
the project may have on our properties.
