6 Salem St Sprinkler system requirement
The North Andover Fire Department clearly recognizes es the life safety benefit afforded h re idential
sprinklersystems. We also acknowledge that the State Building Code does not specify a requirement for such at
the above address. Given this,we do not believe the town n can mandate the installation ofsuch a system in this
instance, but we always recommended it,
The North Andover Fire Department,however, believes the scope of the project should require the
relocated residence to have the smoke and carbon monoxide detection equipment brought up to current 202,2
standards and 'Installed in accordance with the provisions for new construction. The importance,of early and
reliable detection for life safety cannot he understated.
