Enclosed please find our responses to review comments raised by Weston & Sampson in their
peer review memo dated December 10, 2019. Weston & Sampson noted in their review
comment memo their comments are further clarifications of previous comments, which are
copied below for reference. Below please find each comment followed by our response in bold.
Water Infrastructure Review
11. The North Andover Fire Department shall review the proposed fire lines and hydrant
location slspacing for conformance with their standards and policies.
LANGAN RESPONSE: NOTED.
Ill!&S Response: Based on this comments response, it is our understanding that Langan
is reaching out directly to NAFD for approval of the revised plans.
Langan Response: Langan will coordinate directly with NAFD for approval of fire
limes and hydrant locations.
14. The developer shall provide additional information on the purpose and materials of
construction for the proposed "Water Tower" located on Plan Drawing No. CU105.
LANGAN RESPONSE: THE WATER TANK FOUND ON SHEET CU105 WILL BE USED
FOR FIRE SUPPRESSION PURPOSES ONLY. CONSISTENT WITH SIMILAR PROJECTS
OF THIS NATURE THE TANK WILL LIKELY BE A ±270 000 GALLON SUCTION TANK
WHICH MEASURES ±39.5 FEET IN DIAMETER WITH A HEIGHT OF ±32 FT. THE TANK
IS ATTACHED TO A PUMP HOUSE CONTAINING A DIESEL GENERATOR AND A PUMP
WHICH WILL SUPPLY WATER TO THE FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM IN CASE OF AN

EMERGENCY. THE TANK WILL BEAWELDED METAL TANK DESIGNED IN LINE WITH
HARRINGTON GROUP SPECIFICATIONS. AS A CONDITION OF APPROVAL FOR LOT
B A PROFESSIONAL TANK MANUFACTURER WILL PROVIDE DETAIL DRAWINGS AND
SPECIFICATIONS TO BE SUBMITTED FOR THE HARRINGTON GROUP AND LOCAL
AUTHORITIES REVIEW AND APPROVAL.
W&S Response: our preliminary review of the plans did not find any interconnections
between the domestic water lines and the fire lines/water tank. However, we are
requesting confirmation from Langan that no interconnection exists. The fire lines and
water tank shall be completely isolated from the domestic water lines for potable water
quality purposes,
Langan Response: Confirmed, the water tank/fire lines are isolated from the
domestic water lines and will not be connected to ensure water quality.
15. The developer shall provide as-built record drawings of all new and existing water
infrastructure to the NAWD at the completion of construction.
LANGAN REPONSE: A NOTE HAS BEEN ADDED TO SHEET CS002 UNDER THE
UTILITY NOTES SECTION TO REQUIRE THIS.
W&S Response As-Builts shall be provided to NAWD electronically both in PDF and
AutoCAD (Release 2014 or later) format.
Langan Response: Digital versions of the as-builts will be provided upon project
completion
