The remainder of the property is variably sloped with either open meadow (e.g. bracken and other ferns, raspberry, clubmoss) or forested (e.g., pine, ash, and oak, sassafras, sweet pepperbush, partridgeberry). A freshwater wetland, protected under both the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and the North Andover 3 1 Wetlands Protection Bylaw and associated Regulations, is present along the westerly property lines. The boundary of this wetland was delineated on November 5, 2015 by Hayes Engineering, Inc. and 3 is demarcated by flags numbered 1- 18. Existing conditions are shown on the accompanying "Plan to Accompany Notice of Intent in North Andover, Mass. #30 Ironwood Road", dated August 22, 2015 and revised to October 3, 2016. } PROPOSED WORK Proposed work consists of four general tasks consisting of patio construction, driveway extension, addition of planting (landscape) areas, and tree remova,l as described below. These activities will E occur within the 1 00-foot buffer zone associated with the above-mentioned bordering vegetated wetland. All areas of soil disturbance will be planted or otherwise landscaped and stabilized. Proposed features are shown on the above-referenced plan. Patio construction Two adjacent patios will be constructed along the northwesterly side of the house. The first is an existing patio under the deck at the rear of the house that will be reconstructed using similar paver materials, with the exception that they will be pervious, and improved such that it will be integrated into a walled landscape area with stairs. The second, located in lawn and otherwise disturbed vegetation, is a new paver-type patio with associated walls and stairs that will provide an outdoor sitting area. Activities associated with this task include removal of existing vegetation and patio materials; excavation; grading within and adjacent to proposed structure; patio and wall construction; paver installation; stair installation; Sonotube installation, and possible utility line installation. This work will be kept at least 50 feet from the wetland boundary. Drivewav Extension 3 The driveway will be extended approximately 12 feet northerly to expand the existing parking area. Additionally, a crushed stone trench will be installed adjacent to the end of the driveway to capture resulting stormwater runoff from the newly paved surface. The area to be paved is currently occupied by lawn and other vegetation. Activities associated with this task include vegetation removal, grading, paving, trench excavation, and filter fabric and stone installation. This work will occur at least 70 feet from the wetland boundary. Landscap 1 Plantings and other landscaping will be installed in a variety of locations along the patio, driveway, and house entrance. Additionally, an area on the northerly side of the patio will be filled and sloped F to stabilize the retaining, direct runoff away from the patio, and blend into the existing grade. The locations of proposed landscapingare currently occupied b lawn, walkway, and other disturbances.
