Good afternoon Ms. Enright,
Thank you for speaking with me today regarding my concerns and hopes for the Merrimack College property.
This is the following information I would like to be added into the record for the Planning Board members:
I would like to request that a full site traffic study be looked into. There used to be three in entrances and two
egress points to the college, there is now only one entrance and two exits. If traveling along Routes 125& 114 isn't
already hard enough, there are many people who are turning to use Hillside Road, Summer Street, and other cut-thru
neighborhood streets to access the school. I believe that the Planning Board should require the property owner to
conduct a traffic study as I feel that traffic is getting worse and the amount of entrance and egress points throughout
campus keeps decreasing.Additionally, I'm not sure if MassDOT District 4 would be responsible, but I believe there
should be "Do Not Enter"signage if they don't want people accessing the school via the Route 114 entrance. I do think
my request to the planning board is unique, as it might seem rare to bring up a property that has obviously already been
approved years ago (the entire Merrimack College project); however, since many of those documents I would assume are
from 1947, wouldn't it make sense to update them? The school has grown and as I'm sure you are aware MassDOT
District 4 is already looking to start a project along Route 114 to improve the roadway in the coming years.Thank you for
your consideration of my concern and I would love to hear if there is any type of answer that your board could provide to
any of my questions.
Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Brandon Kalamvokis
