I apologize for not having reviewed this earlier. I wanted to address two things with you.
1) 1 have received the swept path analysis for the fire trucks in and around the complex. I raised the issue at a prior
meeting and stated that the grade on the roads connecting the lower parking area to the upper parking area cannot
exceed 10% (527 CMR-Massachusetts Comprehensive Fire Safety Code 18.2.3.5.6.1). 1 was told the grade was lower
at this meeting. I see no other issues with the submitted plan.
2) On the "Comprehensive Permit Application," pg. 13(g) notes that the applicant proposes adding one fire hydrant. I'm
not sure if this is sufficient. By code, a fire hydrant must be within 100ft of a Fire Department Connection when the
building has a standpipe as this one will. I haven't seen any plans that identify the proposed location (FD must approve
this location). This complex has some private hydrants whose maintenance level is unknown. I recommend connecting
any new hydrants to the Town's water mains. One new hydrant may be sufficient but I cannot determine that yet.
