HomeMy WebLinkAboutPublic Comment - Jim Holland - questions for 4.8.26 meeting - Correspondence - 0 Prescott Street 4/8/2026 Public comment questions for 4/8/2026 board meeting:
Prescott St Sidewalk:
1. Can anything be done to make a plan/timeline to rebuild and extend the Prescott St
sidewalk to route 125 before the building is built?
Traffic Impact Study:
2. Can we get the individual vehicle speed recordings behind the average speed
calculations in the traffic study? This would show the number of vehicles that exceed the
speed limit, their recorded speeds, and the time of day. The average does not show this.
I do not believe there is a 30mph posted speed limit sign on Prescott St, but I think this is
stated in the report.
3. The fire station is at the top of Prescott St. In the traffic study, was there a log of the
number of trips made by emergency vehicles on Prescott and High St during a week?
Can we get this? Can we get an analysis on any impacts on response time by the
proposed building and new traffic?
Garage demolition/material safety/environment:
4. 1 tried to obtain more information about the garage construction permit via a records
request but the town did not have anything. I was only able to find a note in the
property record indicating it was built "about 1980". Can the board request independent
garage material and surrounding soil testing just to make sure there are no health or
environmental hazards in this material when it is exposed? I read that asbestos was still
used in some concrete projects through the 1980s.This is also a former industrial site.
Hopefully nothing is found, but it would be good to test it to be sure.
5. How many estimated loads of concrete and other material will be moved through the
neighborhood? What road/roads will be used? Will Holt Rd be used for disposal?
Alternative for development filing?:
6. Could the plan be refiled as Local Initiative Program? I read there might to be more
opportunity to engage with the town and community with this program.
