The meeting was called to o~e'r by the Chairm~n at 8:00 P.M.
Members present: J~hn F. Alter, Chairman, Gregory Mooradkanian, Secretary,
Henry E. Lund, Irving C. Howes and alternate member Sam DiMauro.
Mrs. Alice Moody Scoralick, 140 Prescott Street, North Andover was present
at the request of the Board with resard to the renewin~ of a variance which
had been granted to her on January 24, 1947, so as to allow the operation
and maintenance of a Nursing Nome at 140 Prescott Street. Mrs. Scoralick
informed the Board that she had been under the impression that once the
variance had been granted it was good for as long as she wished to continue
operating the Nursing Home.~ The matter was explained to her that this variance
had been grauted as a non-conf~rming use and should be renewed each year. Mrs.
$coralick then assured the Board that she wished to renew this permit and also
agreed to to this as long as she maintained this business.
Motion was made and seconded and and it was UNANIMOUSLY 'VOTED to renew Mrs.
Scoralick, s permit for another year.
A Public Hearing was held on this date having been du3y advertised on the
evening of February 4~ 1950 in the Evening Tribune and all abutters having
been duly notified, upou the petition of John B. Fielding, requesting a
variance of the Zoning By-Laws of the Town of North Andover, so as to permit
the erection of a single family dwe!lin~ having a frontage of 37 feet on a
lot having a frontage of 60 feet , the side yards of which will not conform
to the present requirements of the Zoning By-Laws and according to plans as
presented to the Board on this date. This lot is located ou Pleasant Street
approximately 325 feet from Clarendeon Street~ on the East side of Pleasant
Street. Mr. Fielding was present at this hearing and explained the situation
to the Bosrd. There was no objection from any of the abutters, who al! had been
du~ ad,iliad.
After considering this matter, a motion was made and seconded and it was
UNANIMOUSLY VOTED to grant the variance to Mr. Fieldingt a~d he was so notified.
A discussion was held by the members of the Board regarding Trailers. Since
t~ere is nothing ~n the present Zoning By-Daws covering this type of dwelling
the feelihg was that there should be some requirements inserted into the revised
By-Laws which would take care of any situation which might arise concerning
trailers.
Motion was amde and seconded and it was VOTS~ to adjourn.
