.Meeting was called to order by the CHairman at 8:00 P.M. in the '£own
Building. This~was a special meeting and also a P~blic Nearing.
~embers present: Chairman~ Gregory ~{ooradkaniAn~ Secretary~ Richard G.
V~aipple, Andrew E. Alvfno, Peter Kitchi~ and Associate member J~mes J. Regan.
Application was received from George ~or%ors~ 52 Buckingham Road~ requesting a
variance of the Zoning ~y-;~ws so as topermit the addition to a one stall garage
in. order to accomodat, two cars, making the side yard on one side 10 feet from
the lot line~
1~. Porters was present and explained t6 the Board that he wished to exten~d the
present garage to accomodate two cars and thus get them off the street, By so
doing~ it would leave the side yard less than the required 15 feet,
Motion was made and seconded and it was unanimously VOTED to grant the variance
to Mm. Porters,
~r~ Edward Melamed, 270 Andover Street was present beofre the Board requesting
Luformation as to the procedure for applying for a continued usc permit in order
tha~t he might conitnue to operate and ~ntain a poultry processing plant at the
above location. This plant is located in a restricted r~sidenti~l district but
was always a farm before ZonLug and h~s been operated as such for many years.
Mr. ~.~elamed explained to the Board that he wished to modernize' his plant and to
install machinery that would do bhe pro~essing ir~tead of using the h~m8 method
as~ has been done in the past~ He was advised that a formal application would
have to be presented to the Board ~d a Public Hearing would be hcld on Tuesday
evening~ November 13~ 1951. This application to be advertised in the ~vening
Tribune on the evening of November 3~ 1951
