Meeting was called to order by the chairman at I;30 p.m. Me~bers present
were MesSrs. Finck, Alvino, Nicetta~ Britton,. Lund and Boeglin. Mr. Britten
was designated as a voting member in the absence cf a regular member.
Mr. Eerold Stott came in request~_ng information with regard to a variance.
This information was furnished by the chairm~.
! Public Hearing was held on petition of Edward Haraciewez, requesting a variance
from Section II, Paragraph D cf the Zoning By-Laws with a request for the use of
laud as an auto repair shop. Tholed is presently zoned for agriculture.
Speaking ~n oppostion to the petition was Dr. Geo. Fraser of Great Pond Rd. who
stated a year ago he lost s~ne trees during the hurricane and since has reitored
the property. Since losing the trees, the property in question can be see~ from
Dr. Fraserls home. When asked ~ho Dr. Fraserts neighbor was, the doctor informed
the Board it was Mr. Whittier. .
Mr. Rennie, 808 Great Pond Road stated he was ag_~nst the .variance being granted
because the neighborhood is generally residentail and he feels it would Break down
the neighborhood if allow. Mr. Rennie informed the Boar that his land adjoins
Dr. Frasers.
Mr. Everett Pevere, 1046 Great Pond Road stated he has had m~y an opport~ty to sell
for the purpose of putting up a filling station but felt the residential community
wo~ld be brokend down very quickly if he did so.
Mr. Constantine, 192 Winter Street, one of the people who bought ~_nnd frol Mr. Whittier
with the belief the area was to be residentAA1 and agricultural. With so ranch open
land, he felt one it started, more commercial shops would oome in to the area.
Richard She]]~ut, 114 S. Bradford St., stated it is a residontail area and did not feel
the garage necessary.
On motion of Mr. Nicetta, seconded by Mr. Alvino, the Board voted to take the matter under
advisement.
A hearing was held on petition of Roland and Hilda Harris request~8 a variance in the
Zoning By-Laws for the purpose of renovating a barn into a single f=m~ly dwall~g.
Atty. Salisbury, representing the petitioners, stated he also has a personal interest
in this prope~y as he lives across the street. He stated the building is presently
in a run down condition and the renovation would be an asset to the area. Be also said
no one of the abutters was in objection to the' variance being granted.
On motion ~ Mr. Nicetta, seconded by Mr. Alvimo the Board voted to take the w~tter under
advisemen%.
Decisions
Naraeiewes: On motion of Mr. Nicetta, seeonded byMr. Alvino the Board u~animously
voted to disapprove the petition as this is one area which is definitely residential
and will be in the future.
Harris: On motion of Mr. Britton, seconded by Mr. Boeglin, the Board votedunanimously
