Dear Sir:
At a session of the North Andover Board of Appeals in the Town Office Building on
Tuesday, April 21, 1970, the request of Frank C. Gelinas for a variance under
Section 7.21 of the Zoning By—Law to permit the erection of a porch and garage to
the existing dwlling was considered. This hearing was published in the Lawrence
Eagle-Tribune on March 28 and April 4, 1970. The Board consisted of Arthur R.
Drummond# Chairman; Daniel T. O'Leary, Secretary; Donald J. Scott, Philip
Arsenault, Esq. and Associate Member James A. Glynn, Jr., Esq.
Mr. Gelinas, speaking on his own behalf, stated the premises were located on the
south side of Gray Street, approximately 50 feet from the corner of Boston Street
and known as 56 Gray Street. The addition will be 16 feet front, 38 feet deep and
one story high of 12 feet. The house is situated on a lot in such a location that
a variance is needed for this addition and the size of his family requires this
additional space. Emily Kwet, an abutter, was in favor of the variance and there
was no opposition noted.
After a thorough discussion upon motion of member O'Leary, seconded by member
Arsenault, the variance was unanimously GRANTED by the Board as it was not deemed
detrimental to the neighborhood.
