Dear Sir:
The following petition was heard at a meeting of the Board of Appeals en Tuesday
evening, November 12, 1963 at the Town Office Building. Members present and voting
were: Daniel T. OtLeary, Chairman; William. Morton, Secretary; Arthur Drummond.9
and Robert J. Burke, Associate Member, who sat in place of Henry Lund.
EDWAED SAUL requested a variation of Sec. 61 Para. 6.33 of the Zoning By-Lear so as to
permit to take a lot of residential land having less than the required frontage and
area and combine the same with a lot of land zoned for general business to 4low the
building on the business zoned lot to have the proper rear line set back as required
by the Zoning By-Law on the promises., located at the west side of Turnpike Street
known as No. 1717,Turnpike Street.
This public hearing was advertised in the Eagle Tribune on October 28 and Nov. 4,
3-963• ,All abutters were duly notified of this hearing by certified mail. Atty.
Harold Morley appeared for the petitioner, who was also present. Mr. Evan C. Hates,
representative of the Mass. Dept. of Natural Resources, asked several questions, but
was not opposed. There were no other abutters present and there was no opposition.
The Board discussed and vented on the petition. Mr. Burke made a motion to GRANT the

p NMt' fora,, whi0b is residential., Mr. Morton seconded the motion and the
vote was unanimous.
This variance is granted for the following reasons:
1. There exist certain conditions, especially affecting the parcel in question, which
do not generally affect the entire zoning district in which the parcel is located.
2. Unless the variance is granted, the applicant will suffer substantial hardship,
financial or otherwise.
3. The requested variance will not adversely affect the public good to any substantial
extent and will not materially affect the general character of the neighborhood.
4. The requested variance will not be in substantial derogation from the intent or
purpose of the Zoning By-Law.
