Public Hear~
The meeting Was called to order at 7:3° P.M. The members present
were: Hemm~ Lund, Acting ChairmaB; Daniel O'Leary, Nicholas F. Nicetta,
Kenneth Terrom=, Donald F. ~th and Alfred Boegl4~ Associate Member.
The Board first elected a new chairman. Mr. O'Leary'made a motie~
to nom~B~te Donald F. Smith for 0h~m~. The motion was seconded by Mr. Nicetta
and the Board voted ,m~4~ously for Donald F. Smith as Chairman.
Mr. Nicetta ~de a motien to elect Mr. Terroux as Secretary which was
also voted ~m~_~ously.
Mr. Nicetta ~Beormed the Board that the PI~B~B8 Board should be notified
~f any hearings held by the Board of Appeals.
The clerk was instructed to ,~ke extra copies of the ZOBtBE By-LaWS
the duplicating macb~e in the Selectmen's office.
Mr. Lund made a motion to increase the clerk's s~?~y te $1.55 per hour.
Mr. O'Leary seconded the motion and it was voted unanimously.
Mr. Lund then lef~ to attend an Assessor's meeting.
The hearing for the Bosten Ski Development Corp. amd John C.
was started at 8:25 P.N. Mr. Smith read the notice which was published in the
newspaper.
Atty. W:i'll~sm~ B. Trafford, Lawrence Rd., WenhaTM, Mass., appoare~ as a
representative and a stockholder of the Boston· Ski Development Corp. Ne stated
that the application and plans exp!s~ ih~y Just what they plan to do. He
explained that the proposed warming hut on the same side as the ski tew would
e~m~B~te a traffic hazard which had been present. The large parking area, which
could accomodate apprex~. 125 cars, would also e~m~nate a hazard.
Mr. Livermore, also a stockholder, explained the snow ma~S eqttipment
to the Beard and the abutters present. The equiDm_~nt would consist of pump and
hoses which would pump water under pressure tt~rough the hoses and spray out ~-n a
sort of fog. They plan to have a fence to keep clear of the M.I.T. property at
the top of the hill.
This land has been leaSed by the Boston Ski Development Corp. frem
John C. Farnum since August 2nd.
· They explained that the ,~4que h~ and the. topograpby of that area would
not be suitable for any other purpose.
Atty. Leo Terrazano, representing Simon & Schroeder, abutters, was very
emphatically ag~f~st what the Bostcm Ski Development Corp. was proposing to do,
and spent considerable time questioning the petitioners and the Board.
There were other abutters present but did not commit themselves.

M~. Terroux made a motion t° take the petition under advisement.
Boeglin seconded the motion and it was voted tmanimously.
The Board then held a closed meeting at which they discussed the petitio~
but decided to meet at a future date in order to discuss more thoroughly.
Corrected plans ~re received from Joseph C~r, but a letter will be sent
to him explaining that lots 5 & 6 are not divided correctly and are not witb4~ the
require~_~ts of the Board.
A hearing ~ be set for 7:30 P.M. on Sept. 16th for the petition of
Fred Aziz to construct a new stand.
