Special Meet ~n~
A ~pecial meeting of the Bo:.~rd of Appeals was held on Thursday,
November 20, 19%8 at the Town Building. Members present and
voting were: Daniel.T. O'Leary, Chairman, Kenneth Terroux,
Secretary, Donald F. Smith, Henry Lurid and William Morton,
Ass~ciate Member. Mr. Lurid did not sit on the first three
hearings therefore, took no part in the deliberations.
bill for $18.60 was signed for services by Mary Doherty.
¥~. Burke made the motion to grant the variance to Louis Minicucci
for a side line variance on Main Street.. Mr. Terrou~ seconded the
motion. The reason for the decision was to grant the variance because
it would better the neighborhood.
After much disuussfon, Mr. Burke rescinded the motion. Mr. Terroux
seconded the motion.
Mr. Morton moved the petition be denied as the lot would be toc
small for the size house wanted to be built and would be taking
land from a small lot. Mr. Smith seconded the motion. Unanimous
vote.
The petition of Carmelo Marine, 1135 Beverly Street was next dis-
cussed. Mr. Terroux made the motion the petition be tabled until
such time as t~:e petitioner supFle~ Dne Ooara with suitable plans
showing lots 49-~0-~1 in their original state add also showing the
Bo~rd where he acquired the other 22 1/2 feet in question. ~. Burke
secooded the motlon. ~nanimous vote.
After further discussion, ~. Terroux made the motion to withdraw
his previous motion. Mr. Burke seconded the motion. Unanimous vote.
}~. Smith moved the pstltion be denied. ]~. Morton seconded the
m<[>-~ion. Unani;nous vote.
~e petition of ~ita and Joseph Lada was next reviewed. 1,~. Smith
moved that the petitioner~b~given leave to amend the petition to
come under Section 7.22. ~. Terroux seconded the motion. Unanimous
vcUe.
Mr. Lund sat in place of ~. ~orton on the next decision as ~. Morton
'took no part in the delioerat~ons, of the petition of the Airport
Commission and ~rvin~ Bell for a s~ecial permit for the erection of
a motel.
The Bo~rd discussed the safety factors,~f the area. It was pointed
out this was a blind corner ~nd the triangle on the road is very
dangerous. It was also noted from the plans parkinK would be near
the street and lights from the cars would sh~ne on to Sutton Street.
Mr. Smith suggested a letter be written to the Airport Commission and
Irvinz l~ell asking that they have an engineer and others present to
discuss the plans more in detail. 'l~e meeting was called for
Dec~ubar k, 19~8 at 8:30 PM.
The 3card discussed .,he plans of the motel and agreed to meet
at 7:_~0 PM on December t% t_n order to go over the plans and
decide what would be requ~ ~ed i'or the 8:30 PM meeting.
