Dears, Town Clerk Town Offies Building North Andover, Mass. Dear Sir: This case came on to be heard at a meeting of the Board of Appeals an Hendey, April 24., 1961. at the Town Offiee Building. Members presext and voting wares Daniel T. O'Leary, Gbairmax, Henry Lund, Robert Burke, Howard Gilman and Associate Member Harold Morley Jr, The Chairman designated Mr. Morley to sit in place of Charles Foster, Jr., regular member whe was absent. The North Andover Shopping Center, Int, requested a variation of Section 7.3 of the sonixg By Law so as to permit tke erection of a shopping center on the promises located on the Southerly side of Main Street from First Street to School Street and known as number 101, 103, 105, 111, 115, 125 Main Street. Francis B. Kittredge, President of the North Andover Shopping Center, Inc. appeared for the petitioner and pointed out they would like sideline variances In order to permit a proper development of the area as a shopping center. Mr. Kittredge painted out this would increase the tax revenue to the Town, it would increase the service ability in the commxxity and would excourge additional capital ixvestnent in the area. Attorney Joilm Willis appeared for the opposition and stated to grant such a variance would be dwegating from the intent and purpose of the By Law. James M. Bass". Chairman of the Planning Board appeared for the Planning Board opposing this variance as the Planning Beard fools cutting the lot lines as requested would be zoning. Fire Chief Dow stated he was opposing this as it would be directly a0XV23 the street from the fire station and it would create a problem traffic-wise whex there is a fire. Johm J. Dear Mr. Lyons: At a regular meeting in the Planning Board Office, Town Building, North Andover, Mass. , on Monday Evening March 9, 1961 the North Andover Planning Board voted to approve the application of the North Andover Shopping Center for rezoning a parcel of land on First Street, North Andover. This area now completes a large section than was previously zoned. The Board voted that it conform with the present area.
