Regular Meeting
The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Appeals was held on Monday, January 11, 1960
at the Town Building. Members present and voting were: Daniel T. 0'Leary, Chairman,
Robert Burke, Henry Lund, Howard Gilman and Associate Member H~rold Morley. Mr. Morley
sat in place of Charles Foster, regular member, who was absent.
The meeting was called to order at 7:~0 PM.
Attorney Charles Trembly appeared before the Board on the application of Charles Breen
who wotuld like to operate a funeral ps. rlor at 35-37 Merrimack Street. It would be in
an existing building, but ~r. Trombly pointed out the lattice work around the rear
entrance and a canooy would be installed in order that no bodies wonld be exposed to the
public. A refusal of a building per~dt from the Building Inspector was given to the
Board.
Mr. TroEbly pointed out this would be an asset to the Town if it were allowed. No
opposition ~peared before the Board.
Mr. Lund moved to take the matter under advisement. Mr. Morley seconded the motion.
Unanimous vote.
A bill for $ 19.25 was signed for Mary Doherty.
Mr. Burke moved that the variance be granted to Charles Breen as the building is in
a Business area and is an existing building and conforms to all the rules and regulations
of the By Laws. Mr. Morley seconded the motion. UnanLmous vote.
