PLANNING BOAP~ DECISION
After a duly advertised Public Hearing held on February 17, 1955, the
Planting Board of North Andover voted unavtmously, to deny the approval
of the petition of Daniel Olenio~_ for a proposed amendment of the Zoning
By-Laws of the Town of North Andover, fo change the classification of a
parcel of land, o~ed by Daniel Olenio~, from an Agricultural to a
Business District.
The boundaries and description of the land in question was published in
the Evening Tribune on February 3, 1955and February 15, 1955.
The following reasons were given for this denial:
1. If this petition was approved, the Board wo~uld have no reason to deny
any further applications for business p~rposes for the entire f~ontage on
Osgood Street opposite the l~ud acquired by the Western Electric Company.
2. The Board further feels that until such time as they have become ac-
quainted with the complete physical developments of the ~ester Elec~ic Co.
plant, they should not permit any change in zoning on the easterly side of
Osgood Street opposite the said Western Electric Co. for business purposes.
3. The Board also feels that the approval of business uses in this area
should await the serious consideration by the townspeople of ~u overall study
of the proposed revision to the Zoning By-Law now being undertaken by your
Plannin~ Board.
