The following resolution was unanimously adopted at the meeting of
the Board of Selectmen:
Whereas God our Divine Ruler in his wisdom has seen fit to call from
our midst TreQsurer of the Town, and
Whereas by his passing, the Town wi].1. lose the services of an official
'Uhose ability and honesty was unquestioned, and
Be it Resolved, that the Town Building be draped in mourning for a period
of seven days, as an expression of the sincere sorrow felt by the towns people
over his death, and
Be it further Resolved, that an expression of our most sincere sympathy
be sent to the family of the late Maurice C. Casey, and
Be it further Resolved, that a copy of these resolutions be spread on the
permanent records of the Board of Selectmen, and
Be it further Resolved, that a copy of these resolutions be sent to Mrs.
Maurice C. Casey.

Greetingss-
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are
hereby directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of North Andover
qualified to vote in Elections and Town Affairs, to meet in the Engine --
House in voting precinct ono; the Morrimack Schoolhouse in voting _
precinct two, the Union Schoolhouse in voting precinct three and the
Town Mall in voting precinct four, in said North Andover, on
Monday, the third day of June A.D. 19402 -
at nine o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to act upon the follow-
ing businesss
To elect a Town Treasurer, to fill vacancy. _
All to be voted on one ballot. The polls shall be opened
at nine o' clock A.M. and shall be closed at six o'clock P.M. —
And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting true and attested copies thereof in the Town Hall and at five or more public
places in each voting precinct. Said copies to be posted not more than
fifteen days nor less than ten days before the time of holding said meet-
ing.
Fbreof fail not and make due return of this warrant with your
doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, at the time and place of holding said —x
meeting.

RESOLUTION
i Whereas, our associate and chairman, James P. Hainsworth,
has been called: by death;; and
WHEREAS, he triad served on the Board ;of Selectmen of North
Andover continuously since 1930, faithfully performed all
duties and attended all veeklymeetings up to the time
in the early Summer when his fatal illness made it imposs-
s ible; ,and
WHEREAS, his good judgment, high principles, and well
rounded knowledge of- town affairs; his constructive in
terest in the welfare of this community, and his will-
ingness to give freely of his time and energy have been of
lasting benefit•to North Andover.
ri BE IT RESOLVED: That we, members of the Board of Select-
men of North Andover, feel in the death of James P.
Hainsworth the loss of an upbui]ding and steadying force

�. in our tows government. We shall miss him as a. friend
r and as an associate.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:' That this resolution be in-
scribed in the.records of the Board of Selectmen of

the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company for ground wires
from aerial cables to water mains on various streets of the town

4 Greetings:
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby
directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of North Andover, qualified
to vote in Town Affairs, to meet in the Court Room, Town Building, in said
North Andover, on Monday, the nineteenth day of January, 1942 at seven-
thirty o'clock P.M.t then and there to act on the following business:-
Article 1. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate
the sum of Two Thousand Dollars ($2000.00), to pay for a two-way radio
purchased by the Police Department, under the emergency declared December
22, 1941.
Article 2. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate
the,sum of Fifteen Hundred Dollars ($1500.00), for the payment of equipment
purchased by the Fire Department under the emergency declared December 22,
1941.
Article 3. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate
a sum of money not in access of Thirteen Hundred Ninety-five Dollars ($1395.00),
for the purchase of the following items for the Fire Department, as recommended
by the Committee appointed by the Public Safety Committee to investigate the
needs of this Department:
1. Spare tires for all apparatus except the ambulance, as
follows: One- 7:50" x 20" Heavy Duty, for the LaFrance pump
One- 38" x 7" n n n n White pump
Two- 36" x 6" " " " " Forest Fire Truck
Two- 32" x 6" n n n n Ladder Truck
Estimated cost of above - $400.00
2. Five hundred feet 1#" cotton rubber-lined hose.
(This is in addition to the five hundred feet now ordered.)
Estimated cost - $350.00
3. Renewal of plates and acid in the storage battery on the
Fire Alarm system.
Approximate cost - $300.00
4. One mile #8 hard drawn weather proofed copper wire for
emergency repairs to fire alarm circuits.-
Estimated sost -$225.00
5. Thirty pairs rubber boots for the Auxiliary Fire fighting
force. Estimated cost - $120.00 * '

Article 4. To see if the town will raise and appropriate or otherwise _
provide the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), to cover expenses of the Military
Police Company, Massachusetts State Guard Reserve of North Andover, Massachusetts,
from January 2, 1942 to March 14, 1942.
And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting true and attested
_ copies thereof at the Town Hall and at five or more public places in each voting
precinct. Said copies to be posted not more than fifteen days nor less than ten days
before the time of holding said meeting.
Hereof fail not and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon
to the Town Clerk, at the time and place of said meeting.
