Mr. Thomson approved by motion which was seconded by Mr. Finneran and vo~e was unanimous. Mr. Hayes also approved · this date. Mr. Thomson read a letter on the care' of children of mothers who are employed in essential War Work. No action was taken as it was not ~onsidered essential but will be kept in mind by the Department of Public,Welfare. The following specialconstables were appointed as requested by Davis 'andFurberCo: Malcolm Hamilton, 105 Plessant St. andGeorge'Clsrke of Parker Street. Weekly'bills and payrolls were approved. · Mr. Harry Dowe came before' the Board ~o explain the re-writing of s new insurance policy. Mr. Foster made a motion, seconded· by Mr. Finneran ~ :that all liquor licensees· be given an extra hour on October 11; this ~:does not apply to Package Stores. Mr..Finneran received reques%s from ~everal residents on Stevens Street, ~ohave a light installed.·· Two former requests were recentlyrefused by the Lawrence Gas & Electric Co, and no'further request will be made at this t~me.
