It was unanimously voted to nrans£er one hundred ddlQars ($100.00 from the Reserve Fund to the Playground Appropriatio~ (Grogan's) to ~ake care of unpaid bills and payroll of Mr. Rivet. Hr. Finneran made a motion to allow this transfer, seconded by Mr. Thomson and voted unanimously. Meeting adjourned. Regular weekly meeting of the Board of'Selectmen held an 7.00 P.M. with all members presenn. Weekly bills 'and payrolls were approved. A letter, was received from the Mass. Department of Public Works, approv- ing as if 10/15/1943 work done by the Highway Department ~nder Chapter 90, of the Genera]. Laws-town contract 8700, dated July 13, 19A3. Alexander Ness, 11 Dewey Street, North Andover was appointed a Special Constable on this date a~ request of Myron Lewis; Mr. Finneran presented the three names for re-appointment as Special Constables: Krchie Gourley, Mark Magoon and Fred Salois. Names were checked for appointment and this is no~ necessary until March 19A4. Their revolver permits run out this month, however. Mr. Elliott said tbs Board . had the right to transfer from one account to another in tbs Same department~ Mr. Thomson made a motion to authorize the Board of Fire Engiheers t¢ $225.00 from salaries account to ~pense account. Mr. Finneran seconded the motion and vo~e was unanimous. Mr. Blliott was directed to make this change. Mr. Harold Holt came to discuss the transfer of ~100 from Reserve ~und to Playground appropriation (Grogsn's). The Advisory did'not, approve this transfer as they wished to see tbs cut'standing bills. Mr. Foster explained that Mr. Rivet had %o hire different help' this ye,r and had to pay more per hour. Mr. Thomson suggested that we have Mr. R~get come in~o the mee~in~ on next ~onday evenin~ and present bis billm. Mr. Holt will also be present %o represent the Advisory Board. Mr. Holt spoke of tbs Post-War Commfttee recently appointed and felt that at least one member of the ~visory Board should be on the committee. Mr. Thomson made a.m~tion khat the names of Harold Holt and Elwyn Kine be added as member of the Post-Wa~ Committee to act as representatives of tbs Advisory Board. Mr. Finneran seconded the motion and ~oteo was unanimous. The chairman will be notified, also Hall Nichols, Executive Secretary of the Emergency Public Works Commission,Room A02, 20 Somerset St.Boston. Mr. Thomson suggested that we obtain forms from the WPB in Boston, 17 Court St. for street lights to be installed in certain areas of tbs Town. Mr. Costello will be contacted for ~urtber information. Mr. Thomson made a motionthat a demand be madeto have shades removed from street lights throughout the town, for the safety of our people. A letter will be senate La~rence Gas & Electric Co., attention of Mr. R. 'H. Patterson. A letter and questionnaire was received from Danvers Post-War Plannin6 Committee a~n~ ~or any available information regarding pl,n~'~or Post War Projects end ~ny action taken by the different communities. Let~-r and questionnaire reO~rred to Mr. William ~sffy, Secretary o£ this Committee. A letter was received from 0. J. Mahoney ststing that be b~d received tbs papers 'in the claim of Thomas Derby against the Town of North ^ndover re- garding an accident (collision with fire truck) and will report to tbs Board as soon as pcssible. A letter was received from Governor Saltonstall regarding tho
