COUNCIL ON AGING:
I~vitatiem ex~ended to the Board to participate ia a legislative Day, May 1, at 2 P.M. at the
Central Catholic Auditorium sponsored by the Council On Aging. Blian $,~van wLll attend with
possibly the Chairman.
GAS EXCAVATIONS:
Petitions approved to excavate for mnergency repairs and gas service on Abbot, 'Joh~-on, Bald~Lu
Francis, Union Streets and Woedbxidge P~ad.
POLE INSTALLATION:
Appx~ved: Petition to ~-~1 1 pole on Essex Street '(P~-m~_ve 1 pole)
PIANNING BOARD ARTICLE:
Planning Board submitted an: Article to be inserted in~.a Specia~ Town Meeting, if called.
Board voted to have Chair=-- ask about the ttrgency o£ said Axticle.
PEEINI CORP. v Building Inspector:
Letter £r~m Town Co~sel stated that the ~ was in error in -~l~wing the p~-tiff's
Motion for S~um~ary Judgement and that he thought the Naseachnsstts Appeals Coua~ would so de-
termine in the event that the case was appealed. The Board of Selectmen voted to have Town
Counsel take the necessary steps to file au Appeal.
CE~A PROJECTS: :
Brian' S. advised Board that a total of 3.2 .~11ion dollars had Been received by CE~A for
special town projects. Projects had %0 be submitted by April 2, 1~77. Sel'eetmen authorized
Brian to ~rite up projects to be submitted.
P~DIONAL SITE:
Brian reported that as a result of the Selection Committee meeting last week, North Andover
came out to he the be~t proposal in terms of 'economics. Our site ~uld ~esult in the l~weet
operatio-~ cost. North ~B~ver's site ~nzld cost 38~ per tea less than the Haver~?~ site
and Mathuen, 165 less. Board advised Brian to tell Mitre Corp. Tc~n is reCeptive to
site.
JOINT PURCHASING WITE ANDOVER:
The above-~med proposal was discussed, l~hasing different supplies on a J~int basis with
Andover to he sucessful would have tm be limited to the purchasing of police cruisers
maybe office supplies.. One advantage, Am~over has a fu21 time pxofesei~m~ purchasing agent
~hich would help to ensure our venture w~uld be ~ ed in the proper mauner.
