LICENSING:
Mr. Foster questioned the license for amusement ~achines granted to Chris Adams, ~i~ty
of his miniature golf .course. Town Counsel has stated that the license was permissible
and does not ~lolate the town zoning by-law.
Pez-~,.~ssion granted to Mrs. Carol. F. W~]]ett of the Hancock Associates for a lOday 2~quor
license to be used at the Boston University Conference Center, 723 Osgood Street, on
September 1, 1977 with payment of $5.00 fee.

The Board cf Selectmen held their regular me~ting on this date with two members present;
Selectman Joseph A. Guthrie with Chairman Thomas J. McEvoy presiding. Selectman John F.
Coady was on vacation. The minutes were approved as s, ubmi.tted. Warrant.sign.i. ng, pending.
J. Guthrie stated that an u~uthorized town employee ~prov~sional firefighter) was on the
payroll and would not sign until Town Counsel consulted.
POLE LOCATIONS:
Approved: Installation of 12 poles on Winter St. and 15 .poles on Lacy St. (remove 4 poles)
PUBLIC WORKS CO~PACT:
The above-named contract was signed by the Selectmen and officers of the Public .Works Union,
for the years 1977 - 1979.
FREE CASH:
Notice of amount of "Free Cash" as of July 1, 1977 for town, $39,439.00.
~T. 125 TRAFFIC: :
Letter from Sherma~ Eidleman advised the 'Board that the town's request for a traffic, warning
beacon was denied because their investigations found that there was adequate sight distance
approaching this intersection. The present speed limit should be enforced within, this en-
tire area. Request to move Stop sign located on the east side of M~side Read is mot
possible due to the design of the intersection. Addition al Stop sign ~dll :be placed to
the left of the intersection and a Stop line ~ be painted at this location.

HIGH SCHOGL-SAFETY PROJECT:
Letter from P~bert T.. Tierney, P.E., Chief w~ji~ neet, Dept. of Public Wdrks, advised Roard
that the design work on the project has been completed except for some miner drainage items.
Current date for'advertising ~his~ project is September of 1977.
GR. LAWRENCE SANITARY DISTRICT:
Letter from Ex. ~trsctor, Ronald A~. George, advised the Board that the operating and main'
tenance balamc~ for fiscal year, 1977, is $210,323. He intends to apply this b~-~ce to
the fiscal 1979 budget ~d assessment to the four communities.
GAS EXCAVATION:
~e~titicn to excavate to repair gas main on East Water Street, at 1 Fountain Drive.
Approved, subject to signatures.

LICENSING COMMISSIONERS:
Hearing: Application fe~ Restaurant, ~ Alcoholic license, from Paul E. Case, Francis
Barrett, Manager, at 80 Chickering Rd., d/b/a as"Casey's Folly.,' License Board told
Mr. Case buying the property and has six,successful sm~ .restaurants in the State. They.
would offer a sm-~, but good menu and, after it has been renovated, it would be 'a place
where you could bring your date, your wife, children or Mother to dine. License was granted
subject.to the approval of the Building Ymspector and Board of Health.
