Letarte, Secretary ~:.~,¢~,~,~,~,~.~~ erk SEPT~E~ 18 1978 The Board of Selectmen held their regular meeting on this date ~rlth all members present; Selectmen Guthrie, McEvoy, Salisbury, Joyce with Chairman Coady presiding. The warrent end minutes were approved as submitted. ~E~ INGS: Selectmen met with Chairman of the Plenning Board, Bill Salen~e, to discuss futur~ To~ Planner. The meeting ~rlth the roofer, Frank Trombly and the High, my Surveyor, Tree Warden and Public Works Superintendent was postponed until next meeting, Sept. 25. AUT P~2~ AVE~JE: A large group of residents from the Aut~an Avenue area x.~ere present to protest the proposal to have en emergency access road from the I~averly Read housing project connecting to Autran Avenue. Residents protested that more traffic would ensue end more danger to their children x.~uld result as there are not any side~.mlks on Aut~an Avenue. After much discussion, the Selectmen took under advisement the follo~ng issues: l) Area of trespass, keeping gate closed, keeping the street a dead-end and the need as au emergency. Letters will be se~t tc the Fize Chief, Police Chief, Planning Board, Highx. my Surveyor and Public Works Supb, for their reoommendations ~.~ether access road, as proposed, should be eliminated or not. HARVARD REVIEW CO~.~T2EE: E~.~rd Scanlon ?~s appointed to the Harwrd Review Committee and the Selectmen instructed Brien to contact the Public Works for a member to be appointed from that Department. ' Appointment of a member to the above-named Board ?~s taken under advisement, until ne~b meeting. TG~N COUNSEL: Letter from P. Garofoli contained request for the serrlces of Town Counsel in a discrimin- ation suit. Selectmen approved~ Letter to be sent to To~*n Counsel. VILLAGE GREEN TRAFFIC LIGHTS: Letter from Sherman Eidieman, District High,.my Engineer, advised the Board that the tox. m's request for traffic lights at the entrance of Village Green had been sent to Robert Tierney in Boston. Copy of letter x. ddl be sent to Bud Cyr, Chief Lawlor and a letter to Eidlem an to express the town's th~n~m end appreciation for his efforbs on the tox*n's behalf; DRAINAGE EAS~: The Selectmen signed a drainage easement for Marb!eridge Rd. to be sent to James Carling, County EngLueer · STREET LIGHT REQUEST: Street light request for lighting in the ~ater to~.~er area ~ms tabled until nexb meeting. GAS EXCAVATI~;: Approved: petition to er~awte on Narbleridge Rd. to install a gas service. SEW'~NCE PAYS: Ruling received from Attorney General that unused sick leave should be included in the severauce pays of retiring employees. STOP SIGN- Letter received from Chief Iawior reco~ending the insta21ation of a Stop sign, intersec-~ tion of Stev~s aud Pleasaut Streets. Request foE. tarried to Sherman Eidlem~n. OVERPASS ~LAQUE: Selectman ~cEvoy requested tb~t Public Works be notified to ~ustall plaque at the Overpass as soon as possible. CABLE TV BID: The only bid received fro Cable TV to be opened on September 19th and discussed at meeting.
