EPILEPSY SOCIETY: The above-m~med Society sent letter requesting permission to hold 'bag days on May ll-12th for a fund -' °' ~ event of 1979. The Board voted umanimonsly in the affirmative. GAS EXCAVATION: Approved: Petition to install a gas service on Smmnet Street. MEETING: It was ~oted to postponed appointments aud to have a ,:~rking meeting on Thursday, l.hrch 29th, at 7:30 P.M. Dunn, Mgr., Boston Hill Slide & Ski. Corp.., ~:. ll4: North kudover: Mass. Letters from Building Inspector smd Bd. of Health were affirmative. Letter from an abutter, ~.~!ton ~!len, x.~as against the issuing of the license. Robert Dunn stated that many ski areas have a license, that s~iers have come to expect a glass of wine or beer ~.rlth their sand~.~ches~ tl~t most ski areas have a full license and there has not been an history of injuries due to intoxication. 3 .&lphine slides have a f~l! license in other areas. He is not going to have a lounge or bar. S~ers %f. ll be seated and served by a waitress. It was a normal procedure to have a license. Guthrie stated that if the slide was located in any place but Rt. ilk he ~.m~ld not have any objection to the'license. He cited increased acti~_ty and traffic. ~. Du~n stated%hat the parking problem had been resolved on hill side, that 1300 pe~p~..ski there on a good day aud the parking had been expanded. He has 700 slide customers ~.~%ich %ms open Saturday ~ Sunday. Skiing is his business, he stated~ he was not interested in conducting a bar, the license was applied for for the convenience of the skiers. Others opposed because of in= creased traffic x.ms ;Qmiec, Fink, bah .Peter pandiscio was for the license. After further discussion Selectman Grahcm made a motion to deny the license, seconded by McEvoy. It ~.ms au un~nimeUs vote. The' Selectmen unanimously voted to appoint, again, Gayton Osgood as ~lternate Nember to the Nerrimack Valley Planning Commission. CONSTABLE APPLICANTS: Letters received Francis Kratz and Joseph Averka requesting appointments as Constables. Applications referred to Chief Donne!ly for character references. SPECIAL CO~{SEL REQUEST: The above-named request for a land damage case was postponed until recomendation from Town Counsel is received. ECONO~EC DEVELOPNENT PLAN: The Board unanimously voted to endorse the ~onsmic Development Plan prepared by the 2{VPC and authorized the Chairman to sign the endorsement. SCHN~E~DER RFAL ESTATE SIGN: Letters received from the Building Inspector who had nctiTied George Schruender that Sign he had erected ~ras in v~lation of the Zoning By-Law and must be removed by April 2, 1979' If sign is not removed it is his intention to enter the property, remove the sign and'~ assess Schruender ~hatever costs incurred.
