Th~. Board~ of Selectmen held their regular meeting on this date with all members present
with the exception of Chairman McE.voy and Selectman DiFr~scio. Present were Selectmen
John W. Graham, Ralph R. Joyce, and Charles Salisbury. The minutes of the previous
meeting were approved as submitted together with the warrant.
APPOINTMENT OF GORDON GIRARD AS CONSTABLE:
Application was received from Gordon Girard for appointment as Constable. The Administrate:
reported that Mr. Girard was interested in using his Constable powers only in the Royal
Crest Apartment Complex, and that the main concern was keeping trespassers off the
property. He indicated that he was not interested in serving Civil Process. Voted 2 to 1
with Selectman Joyce opposed to appoint Mr. Girard as Constable without Civil Process powers.
HILLSIDE ROAD:
..Voted unanimously to approved a petition to'the County Commissioners to relocate the last
portion of Hillside Road between 125 and 114 so as to create a deadend and a cul-de-sac.
APPOINTMENT OF SGT. INSPECTOR:
A letter was received from Chief Donnelly stating that the position of Sg~. Inspector has been
vacant since he was appointed Chief. The position calls for an annual stipend of $350.
The Chief recommended that John Crane be appointed to this position. Voted unanimously
to approve the appointment.
LICENSING COMMISSIONERS:
MERRIMACK COLLEGE ONE-DAY LICENSE:
Letter was received from Rev. Gillim requesting permission to use their College Beer License
at the ~Volpe Sports Complex for a spring dance¥ May 4, instead of at the faculty lounge.
Voted unanimously .to approve the request.
AUCTIONEERS LICENSE - C. M. MARCOTTE:
Application was received for a one-day auctioneers license on May 12 to be held at
231 Chestnut St. Application was from a C. M. Marcotte, 1144 Main Street Haverhill, MA.
Voted unanimously to approve the request subject to the Chief's approva~ as to the parking
arrangements.
FISH.: VENDOR:
Application for a Common Victu~ler's License was received, from Michael Nicastro, 69 PleasantSt,
Glouster, MA to sell fish from a moble fish truck town-wide.' The applicant has already
received Board of Health' approval. The Board voted unanimously, to table the application
until 'the following week when :Mr.~.: Nicastro could.,be~ present.'
CHEMINEER-KENICS - ONE-DAY LIQUOR LICENSE :
Application was received for a.cne-day liquor license on June 13 .to be held at the B.U.
Conference Center. ~pplication was received from Chemineer-Kenics c/o Karen Eaton,
Plant Accountant for a company outing. Voted unanimouly to approve the request subject
to a'Police Officer present.
CHRIS.i ADAMS - 12 COIN-OPERATED MACHINE LICENSES:
App]~mtio~.. was received for 12 iCoin~Operated Machine Licenses from Chris Adams, Golfland
at North Andover, 1591 Osgood St. Unanimously voted to issue him 6 temporary licenses for
1 week.
