CF,~PTER 90: Mass. Department of Public Works have a!lo~ed, under provi-, sions of Section 34, Chapter 90, of the General Law~, Tar. Ed. the sum of $1,000 for maintenance of Chapter 90 roads in North Andover on condition ~hat at least $2,000 be contributed by the town. This was appropriated at the annual ~own meeting. · APPROVAL OF STP~ET LIGHTS: Approval of W.P.B. for installation of ~two ~street lights on Beech Avenue was received.. The third one requested,.ha~ not been approved. Board will advise installation of,~these two !igh.t.s PETITION FOR STREET L'IGHT: Petition for light on Russell Street, :fiigned . by all residents (25) was received. The Board accepted the petition'/and will request this light from the Lawrence Gas & Electric Co. r~ ~:<! GI~.INAS!UM: R~. Cornelius Heyn came· before the. Board to obtain~ their ~,~ '"' opinion concerning a gymnasium or some other place where childre~09td congregate., Mr. Reyn represented ~the Community Sports Group but 's,t~ted~,~'~. ~, that they do not expect the town'to supply the money for this proJec't, :: but that he wanted the opinion of the board as ~o the idea. He expects that the money will be rAised.from private sources.' Mr._ Heyn stated that he thinks.the most logical place wiI1 be on the,Drummond Memorim~J~Play'_~,~ ground ,~hich is .large and roomy, and will not interfere with other ~:~, ~j /j i, activities in any way. Letter of thanks and appreciati6n will be sent to Mr, Stead.~ James Hargreaves and Leo Fane were nominated by Arthur A, Thomson, seconded by Harry Foster and voted unanimously to appoiSt M~ssrs. Hargreaves, and Kane. Edwin Koenig was nominated by Mr. Thomson and seconded b y 'Mr. Fost~r and by majority vote Edwin Koenig was appointed to replace Arthur Stead. as fire ~ angineers.Mr. Finneran nominated Arthur Broderick but this was ~n$t aeconaeu. Application received f for a Junk license.
