SPR~G I~EETING OF SELEC~,IEN'S'ASSOCIATION: Notice received, that this meeting would be held in Wneham on Saturday, 5/!3/194~ at 5.30 P.M. and at 6.00 P.M. s business meeting and nomination and election of officers will.take place. Mr. Finneran and Mr. Foster plan to attend this meeting.. Th4 board granted permission to excavate and repair gas main IO0 feet West of J~hnson Street on Andover Street. Vote was. unanimous. · INSURANCE: Harrz Dow came ,before ,the board and'stat~'d that when 'the appraisal of .the town buildings was made a year ago, the Excha'~ge told ·us that if there ..were fire extinguishers in the Library, Albert Thompson. School, High School, ~9o.in,each. and o~e in the Infirmary, the reduced fire ra~e. on the town ~'~ insu~rance would be one cent per hundred. These extinguishers can be .~ purchased from ~he Ellis Fire Appliance. Co. 9. Chardon St. Boston,'Mass.~, at a .cost of ~15.00 each or $105 for seven. Mr. Thomson made a motion to these'extin~uishers and was seconded by Mr~ Finneran and voted unanimously. ~ · ~When~purchase is made., Mr. Dow. will be notified. LEGI~! A~! Culhane, pastor Micha~!'s Church, that the board instruct the water denartment to install service for a.shower arrangement. Mahone~ in~quired as to the approximate price of this installation ,and ~,~r. ~' Duffy~said appr6ximate!y $75.00 for installation but could not say on the water biting.as ~he is not familiar with Just what is ~oing on, whether a spray or regular 'sho6~sl ~..Thomson said that if the board should order the department to install .the service-they would have t~ pay the.initial cos~ of installing:~nd the operating costs thereafter. Mr. Thomson made a motion that the matter be ~ferred to Mr. Mah0~y for his opinion and ruling ae to,the legality, of this matter. Mr. Finneran seconded this motion and vote was unanimous. Mr. Thomson said that whether we are in favor or not is one thing but whether or no~ we can do this is another matter. Mr. Mahoney requested a copy of Nather Cu!han's letter. M~ORIAL DAY: An invita=ion was extended to the Board =o attend the services and. exerciees to be held on ~his day. Mr. Thomson made a motion to accept this invitation, which was seconded by Mr. Finneran and vo~e was unanimous. Letter of acceptance will be sent.
