members present. Weekly bills and payrolls were approved.
DEPARTi~ENT OF PUBLIC WORKS:
The Commissioners have allotted under the provisions of Section 34, Chapter 90,
of the General Laws, Ter. Ed. the sum of $500 for the maintenance of Chapter 90
roads in North Andover, on condition that $1,000 shall be contributedby the
town, and that the cost %o be borne by the Commonwea!tb shall not exceed the
amount allotted.

Letter received from Daniel Taylor, Jr. President, announcing the death of
Axel E. Zet%erman, Executive secretary , Legislative A~ent and ma~sztne editor.
John 0. Hall, Ex-Selectmen of Sudbury has been chosen ~o serve as Executive
Secretary until the Association's Annual meeting.
RELEASE:
A release signed by John T. and Alice ~. Bamford for injuries received by M~s.
Bamford on February 26, 1945 on Sutton Street, was received and approved.for
the sum of $48.00 which covers medical care from Dr. Granville S. Allen.
INsU~NCE ON TOWER ON John Loring's property:
Mr. Finneran was contacted by Mr. Harry Do~e, IN REGARD TO the insurance on tbs
look-ou~ ~ower on the Loring proper%~ and the Board felt that there is no
further need of carrying insurance on this tower. Mr. Dow will be so advised.

A.D.C. payrolls were approved.
Louis P. Saunders, Commander of the American L~gion, came before the Board
~o give a repor~ on the clothing drive which he stated was very favorable.~'.He
had some excellent workers, most of whom were members of the Legion and Auxiliary.
STREET LIGHT REQUEST:
A request for a s~ree~ light was made by Adam Ceplikas of 57 Concord S~reet ~o be
installed on Pole # 2125. The Board voted unanimously to granm this requestafter'
checking no see if stree~ is accepted. '
REGISTRAR OF VOTERS:
Mr; Finneran nominated Fred McCormack to fill the ~acancy caused by theresignation
of 0rris~Rea.
Mr. Thomson nominated Harold Barrin~ton %o fill the vacancy.
Mr. Fosmer stated that he felt Mr. iMcCormack was qualified to fill this vacancy end
he would vote for ~4r. McCormack.
Mr. Thomson withdrew his nomination for Mr. Barrington amd voted ~or Mr. McCormack,
making the rome unanimous. It was voted ~o send a letter to Mr. Rea ex~ressingregret ~
a~ his desire not to be re-appointed and appreciation for his service o~ over40 Years.
FIRE ENGINEERS:
Mr. Foster stated that the three engineers for the coming year would be appointed
to-night. He gave the names of James Hargreaves, Edwiu Koentg and Leo Kane as
his choice. Mr. Finneran nominated Arthur Broderick to ~ill the vacancy which
had been made by the resignation of Leo Kane in 1944.
Mr. Thomson voted for J. Hargreaves, Edwin Koenig and Leo Kane
Mr~ Foster seconded the motion and ~r. Finneran voted for Mr~ Hargreaves, Mr. Koenig
and Mr. Broderick.
Mr. Foster declared James Hargreaves, Leo Kane and Edwin Koenig elected by majority
vote as the Fire Engineers for the coming year.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT:
A card of thanks was received from Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt and her family for the
condolences sem~ by the Board after the death of President Roosevelt.
ik-FIRE INSURANCE:
~ letter was received from the North ~ndover Insurance Agent's Association stating
that effective as of March 15, the fire rate on the Town Schedule will be reduced
one cen~ per hundred, due ~to the additional fire extinguishers, etc. in the various
