the policy for this insurance ~ill expire February 11, 1946.
OFFIGE OF THE SECRETARY:
A list of the Selectmen of Massachusetts was received and
is filed in'Mr. Fcster's drawer.
SELEOTMEm 'S ASSOu IATION:
A notice advising this Board that the Great Barrington summer
outing for Massachusetts Selectmen has been pontponed due to
O.P.A. regulations ~as received, signed by John C. Hall, Exec.Sec.
Meeting adjourned
The regular meeting of the Bosrd of Selecmmen was held on this day with all
members present. ~eek~y bills and payrolls were approved.
NIGH SCHOOL:
William Callahan, Janitor at Stevens Hall came before the Board and stated that
the front of the stage is pretty well marred and he could have the painters
fix it up while they sre up there. He was advised to ~et a price on the work
and report to the Board.
LAWRENCE GAS &ELECTRIC C0~PANY.
Permission was granted to the Lawrence Gas mnd Electric Co. mo excavate and
repair mains a~ Railroad Avenue about 50 feet noth of Massachusetts Avenue.

Mr. Finneran was asked to represent the Board of Selectmen am the at, ual
han~uet of the Hibernians and a complimentary ticket was sen~ by this Order
~for one of the members. Mr. Finneran agreed to do this.
-ORT OF BOSTON-AUTHORITY BILL:.
The Board voted to notifz the Massachusetts Selectmen's Association that they
wished to be recorded as being in favor of the above mentioned bill and also
that they would so advise the Senator and Representative of this vote.
Representative J. Everett Collins and Senator Michael Flanaganwere notified.
WAR BONDS
Leo Murphy'c~me~fore the board to discuss the $50,000 ~o be used for bonds
this year. Mr. Murphy felt sure that the motion he had made a~ the Town
Meeting in March for $38,000 was the one which went through but according to _
Mr. Duncan's records, the motion for $50,000 or any part thereof was the offi
cial motion and the one voted upon .and accepted.
MrMurphy felt that Mr; Long should not be consulted about any appropriation
but Mr. M~er stated that he had talked to Mr. Long who told him that there
was enough money tc purchase $50,000 worth of bonds and advised him to do so.,
Mr. Thomson said that his recollection of the to.wn meeting was that Mr. Murphy
had made a motion to purchase $50,000 worth of bonds but that it was voted
Then followed a vote that the town purchase bonds valued at $50,000 or any
part thereof.
DOG D~AGE CLA~
A claim that 8 large hens valued at $2.00 each Were ~illed by unknown dogs
..was made by Benjamin A. Ealinosky of 49 Furber Avenue. Mr. Foster signed the
claim which was sent to the CountyCommissioners.
DIVISION OF INSPECTION: George C. Parsons, Chief of inspections.
ALnotice received directing attention to Section 49 of Chapter 143, General
Laws relating to the granting of licenses for such exhibitions as circuses.
The State Building Inspector fo~ this districywill be glad, upon notification
by this Board to cooperate in every way with a view of securing maximtm safety
for the public who attend these circuses.

Contract No. 9265 covering work to be done in this town this year under the
provisions of Section 34, Chapter 90, of the General Laws, Tar. Ed. was
received and has been signed by the Selectmen and the Commissioners.
