Duffy informed Mr. Buchnn that water services ~,were installed there in
1927 but if a layou~ was approved by the Board of Survey, no record of
such action is available. The Assessors have a plan drawn in 1906 by
Horace Hale Smith.

A letter advising that Chapter 1 of the Acts of 1936 being an emerg@ncy'
measure and effective 1/8/1946 reads as follows: AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE CITIES
and TOWN TO PROPERLY CELEBRATE THE RETU~ OF THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO SERVED
IN OR WERE AFFILIATED OR ASSOCIATED WITH THE APJ,~ED FORCES OF THE UNITED~
STATES IN WORLD WAR II.
Cities and towns may appropriate money to celebrate in such manner as they
deem adviseable the return of men and women who served in or were affiliated
or associated, with any branch of the armed forces of the United S~tes i~
World War II. ...

A letter was received .from the Village Land Company ,by, S. F.~RockWell
msking that the. p~oper action istakem in the warrant for th~£town meeting
so that it' can b~ put into effect.~ The letter explained that~he owners,..
of the propert2 on theeasterlyside of School Street will h% willing.~o'
deed a fifteen foot strip of land to the Village Land Company without
remuneration, the Village Land Company would be glad to erect 'and pay for
a fence running the length of the property. The deed says 182 feet--this fence tc
to be a suitable type of woven fence (wire) with wooden posts and rails~
This will 5e included with other streets to be adjucated when the public
hearing'is held during the month of February.
