"if you.say that the conditions are satisfactory, it is adjudicated and goes to
the Town Meeting for acceptance. Mr. Carty then stated that we are up against
the same thing on Lyman Road which was accepted. The place is flooded because
Of the drainage. None of the residents of Glenwood street were present but
-Leonard Oates was present and he felt that this matter of accepting streets
should be started right and since there is no drainage on Glenwood Street now,
it should no~ be accpted.Mr. Thomson stated that he does not think that Mr Carry
need say a drainage is necessary but he feels that Mr. Carry should know about
the natural drainage. Mr. Foster s~a~ed that he felt that Glenwood Street is a ·
mudhole.
Mr; Carry then told the board that as soon as s s~reet is accepted a large a~ount!
of money isneeded ~o take care of the drainage and he doesn't feel that he can
take thismoney out of hie regular appropriation.

Mr.',Carty~hen stated that there is no hard surface or surface drain on G!enwcod
Street and Leo J. Murphy inquired how many streets had been accepted by the

Mr; Finneran felt that this street did not seemready for approval 9y the board :.
of selectmen and that this matter should be taken under ~advisement. Mr. Thom
stated that it was getting close to the TU~ meeting and that the board bad,better
~ake up their minds. Mr. Foster then made e motion that after reviewing the~stree'
ldo not feel that it is in proper condition for approve!by this board. Mr.
Finneran seconded this motion. Mr, Thomson requested that he be recorded asin'
favorof the motion, specifically'because the Highway Surveyor repbrts~that the'~
Condition of the street is.not sstisfacto.-7 to him. The vote was then unanimous
The matter of Rosedale Avenue was thentaken up. Mr.'Palmer Long'was pre,enO'and
he 'said that the road has a good surface and that there' is good.drainage., and
feels that the streetshou!dbe accepted. One resident who'was present'
he had lived on the street for over forty years and never had' any troubl,
ling.iOn the street and Mr. Thomson noted that there was little doubt that the

PRECINCT OFFICERS:
The'matter of appointing a Warden (Republican) in Precinct 1 was taken up. Mm.
Thomson made a motion to appoint Katherine Finn as Warden from the appointment

Hamilton to be appointed Inspector. Mr. Finneran seconded the motion and vote
was~unasimous.
