The number of preferred and non-preference coal users in this municipality. Amount of bituminous coal (number of days norms!use) now held by preferred you! users. The amount of bituminous coal available for general use in fuel dealers yard(number of days normal use. The board voted to have Mrs. Dearden check with Mr. Dooley of the North Andover Ccc! Company and ge~ this infommation and telephone it ~In to the Fue!~~ Administrator. PRECINCT 0FFICk-R APPOINTED: John Muldowney of 306 Sutton Street was appointed unanimously to serve as Inspector in Precinct One (Republican). ENGINEER BRASSEUR'S BILLS: Two bills were presented by Ralph Brasseur for w,ork done on Lyman Road and also on Prospect Street. Plans, bounds and grades were considered. The board voted to pay the smaller bill from the Contingent Fund and to have the Other one called to the attention of the board on December 2~,1946. REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHT* HILLSIDE ROA~: Mr. Salisbury reported to the board that he had received a request to have a 'street light installed at Hillside Road and T~rnpike Street, if possible. There is a fire alarm box and a fire hydrant and about 70 people are interested in this light. Mr. Thomson suggested that the board inspect this !o~ation this evening when they ride around the town with the Chief of Police to check on other lights. This was a~reeable to the other members. SOLDIER'S REL!E~ C0~ISSIONER: William McAloon came before the board and inquired about figuring his budget for the coming year. He was not sure Just what figures ~o use because of the new law. which requires that a Veteran's service bureau be set up. ~Mr. Thomson informed him that he should make an estimate and have it revised when the Advisory Board has a chance to go over it. Mr. Thomson then inquired of Mr. McAloon if he could foresee the need of a full time man for next year and he said he did not feel that a full time man was necessary at this time. MIDDLETON: The Board ~oted to write to the Selectmen in Midd!eton to see how they do feel at this time about combining with North Andover in having a Veteran's Service Bureau. This will be taken care of at once. LAWRENCE GAS & ELECTRIC COMPANY: A communication from this company informing us that a request made last April for the installation of a street light on pole 83 at Suffolk Street '~had been checked and they found that there was already s street light there and wantedto know what should be done in regard to the location of this light The matter was checked with Mr. Gravel who made the request and it was ~ound that the pole number was 85. This reques~ will again be made to the Lawrence ~'"Gas & Electric company. F~ANCE C0~ITTEE-CONOCRD, MASSACHUSETTS A request for information on the wages of the fireme~ and hours and vacation ~time allowed was received and information will be mailed to this Oommittee. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORES: CHAPTk~ 90 Acontrac~ (in duplicate) was received for the improvement f a section of road in this town under the provision of Section 34, Chapter 90 of the General Laws, Ter. Ed. which the Commissioners submit to this board for its consideration. The contracts were signed by the board and returned to the Department of Public Works. One copy will be returned to this office, for our files. ESSEX$OUNTYRETIRD~IENT BOARD: A notification was received by this board ~o the effect that George 'Grande, Foreman, North Andover Public Works has petitioned the Retirement Board to be retired ss of November 20,1946. CHIEF OE POLICE: Chief McKee came to the meeting and agreed to drive the members of this board and also George Hancock of the Registry of Motor Vehicles so that they may inspect the areas where there havebeen frequent accidents and also check on the lights. MEETING ADJOURNED:
