REPORT ON SOLDIER'S RELIEF:
A report was received from William A. McAloon giving the number of
cases aided in his department and the total cost. Mr. Salisbury had '
requested this report previously. (Filed under Soldier's Relief Commi'ssioner.)

N6tice received that an application for a certificate of incorporation as
provided in Chapter 180 of the General Laws Tot.Ed. under the name of C!ub2!04
Inc. was received. Purpose of this club is to promote, foster, encourage and
maintain social activities for the North Andover Post 2104, V.F.W. and they
have the power to acquire a license for the 'sale of alcoholic beverages and to
do any and all acts necessary for dispensing said alcoholic bevereges~under"the

to be planted in the spring.
SURVEY ON APPROX3NATELY 20 houses:' ~'"~
Ralph Brasseur reported that he and Mr. Goodwin bad completed the survey
on twenty houses throughoutthe town and the board voted to ask the m~mbe~s
of the Advisory Board, Board of Assessors and Henry Lurid, as arepreaentative
of the taxpayers, to at~end a meeting on N~ember 30, 1946 at 8:00 P;N. and
find out what the ou:come of this survey. Ail members will be notified.

',',..,/Mr.'JArthur Broderick, Engineer, came to fill in for~Chtef Hargreaves, who'was
and'he explained that there was little time tostudy the problem. He thinks
'th~%'it is asking a g~eat deal.of the men to go out after working hours and la~
tineCofhose and it isn't easy. He said it would be all volunteer work. Ne asked
~h~ hours of opening and closing ~the rinks. He feels that the e!emen~ of
the main factor but feels that the men will volunteer to do this work. He''
that at the Thompson School, perhaps the Janitor could come down and let the
men in the building as it is extremely cold standing out for several hours in
·zero.weather.
Mr. Salisbury inquired if the Recreational Committee had mentioned such a project.
Mr. 'Heyn said he knew they were in favor ~ such a,project but only as to
location. It is worth a try, said Mrl Heyn. It was decided that Mr. Carty
would decided abou~ placing the sand st Grogan's Field and Mr. Dully stated his
willingness to assist and will give one man and Mr. John J. Connors will also
be asked to help out.
