' The Board voted unanimously to sccept~this~petttion and ho!da hearing on March 24, 1947 at 7:30 P.M. in the Se!ectmen~s Office. Abutters to be notified. Petition also received for Andover Street, southwes~ of 0sgood Street, ! pole, and on Great Pond Road, southwesterly from a point 2107 feet southwest.of E.:Boxford Rd., 2 poles. Hearing to be held on March 24, 1947 at 7:30 P.M. LAWRENCE GAS &ELECTRIC Aletter was received by this board relative to the demonstration of three "16,000 lumen mercury luminaires on Main Street near the Town Hall which 'have been installed for one meek. MrJ Frost would like to have comments from the board in regard to the ty~e of light, its visual acuity and the boards ~e~ction to the color effect. The Board felt that there was a very great ~improvement and will thank the Lawrence Gas & ElectricCompany for their ~urtesy in installing these lights. Notice received that a 1000 lumen light was installed on Pole #8~ on Suffolk~ Street asrequested in our letter of April 3, 19Z6. This light was turned on February 25, 1947. ~PLANN!NG BOARD: Public Hearing- A~etter was received'from the Planning Board informing this.boerd~that they ~had voted unanimously to recommend unfavorab!e action on the proposedamenl of %he Town Zoning By-law by changing certain districts on Chickering Road ~from restircted.residenti~l or general residential to business districts, ~ ~ ~ · which is set forth as Article 25 of the Town Warrant. No action was taken. HOUSE BILLS 784 and 783: L~tter received from Mr. Crocker of Barnstable who introducedhouse bills 783 and 784 in the Legislature this year. House Bill 784 is a ~roposal for a 'b6unty on otter whichare now, end have been for some time, making vast inroads on the fish supply in our lakes and streams. House Bill 783 proposes to amend the dear law so as to permit a much longer open season. No action wa~ taken as to replying.
