APPOINTMENTOF SPECIAL POLICE OFFICER:
The Board ~oted unanimously to appoint Francis Driscoll, 74Turnpike Street
as a special police officer.
DEPARTMENTOF PUBLIC WORKS:
A signec copy of the contract of North An~over with John David Driscoll~
dated May 27, 1947 was received by the hoard.' This contract is for .the
reconstruction of a section of highway in the town of North Andover.

Letter received relative to an article in the warrant of 'the annual town m~eting
held on MaFch 3, 1947, to see if the town would raise and appropriate a s~m
· of moneyin the Town of Rockport'relating to School Building improvements.
The town voted to raise $20,000 whichactinn was found to be null and void.
This information was sent'tothe board in case it may he of some helpin this
town if similar actionis planned. No,action was taken.

his men. Hr. Didallwill,hs informed of this and the board wished to thank him
for his offer.

corner at Elm and Water Streets and would like to use some of the money left
over, above the hid price for:work on Chapter 90., It,will cost approximately. $200.
He asked that the Selectmen write to Mr. Fritz atBsverly and askfor, permission
touse this amount of money. No action was taken.
PLANNING BOARD~
A report from the Planning Board on the hearing held on June 20, 1947 stating
the the ahove~oard voted unanimously to recommend favorable action to be taken
at the special town meeting to be held on June 20, 1947 to change the classification
of the following property from .a reaidantial to a ~usiness section~ Great Pond
Road and 0sgood Street and Cooke Street.
