LAWRENCE GAS &ELECTRIC COMPANY:
A petition from the Lawrence Gas & Electric Company for permission to run
and maintain gas Service pipe and to excavate to install gas-service for George
Shackleton on Lindon Avenue, corner of Greene Street, 27 lest on street, was
approved Unanimously by the board.
Tree Complaint:
Mr. 'Tierney of Annis Street inquired what could be done about a large tree
which had pushed up the sidewalk because of the large roots. The matter was
referre~ to Mr. Conors, tree warden for his consideration.'
TRANSFERS FROM RESERVE FUND * APPROVED:
2he Advisory Board approved the. following transfers f~om the Reserve Fund.
$17.40 to be transferred from the Reserve Fund to the appropriation of
Special Article 11, for paying additional cost of painting bea~s and moulding~
at Stevens Hall.
$82.29 to be transferred from' the Reserve Fund to the appropriation 'of Special
Article #26- 19&~-~haptsr. 90' for the purpose of paying the' town' s share of the
deficit which was under estimated in the bid of the J.F.

CARNIVAL PERMIT:

run~ their, carnival from August 25 through August 30. They also mentioned getting

chief. A motion was made and seconded ~that the Beter~ns of~ Foreign Wars be
given~srmissiOnm to hold a carnival from August 25 through August 30 and the

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS:
Approval as of'July 11, 1947 was received from the Commissioners for the work
done under the provisions of Section 34, Chapter 90 of the General Laws, in the
improvement of a section of road under contract 10~09, dated June 9, 1947, be-
tween Town of North Andovsr and John D. Driscoll.
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIc WORKS:
A copy of an order drawn on this town in favor of John D. Driscoll for the
sum of $4,170~23 on account of work done under contract with the Sown was
received and bill referred to the Highway Department for payment.
HOSPITALBILL-LIFE GUARD:
A bill for the amount of $87.50 from the Clover Nospital was received for
services and care rendered ~e Joseph Willis, Life guard at the Bathing
Beach. Bill was referred to the Aetns Casualty and Surety Company.
MEETING ADJOURNED:
The regular by-monthly meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on this
day at 7:00 o'clock with all members present. Weekly'bills and payrolls
were approved. -

Joseph Sambataro camebefore the board and informed them that he has three
streets in shape..and would like to present them to .the town for adjudication.
He stated that.they have been graded and they are in good 'shape. ~ ..
Mr.' Thomson'read the rules'which apply to street acceptance and asked'-!if..
he had complied With Planning Board regulations and he said that he had
hut thatno plan had be~n filed with the Selectmen, and he would ge~ne
at once. Mr. Thomeon suggested that Mr; Sambataro give the town a release
in accordance with Rule 2. He stated that rule 3, 4, and 5 would come.
