at 7:00 P.~. with all members present. Weekly bills and payrolls were approved.
LAWRENCE GAS & ELECTRIC COMPANY:
Permission was requested to run and mai~taihngas service for Sshn Sachuk, 34
Brightwood Ave, 15 feet on street and for Frank Belanger, Andover Street near
Lorraine Street, North Andover, 26 feet ons~reet. The board voted unanimously
to grant this request.
JUROR D~AWN:
Frank A. Welch, 54 A Water Street was drawn as a Juror to serve in the Superior
Court at Salem, December 1, 1947. Mr. Finneran drew the name at this meeting.
TREE R~OVAL REQUEST:
Antonio De~ucca of 5 Jackson Street requested the removal of two trees in front
of his property at 674 Turnpike Street which are large and he believes are
dangerous to motorists. Mr. Connors informed this office that these trees are
on the state highway and it will be necessary contact Mr. Henderson of the

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS:
Notice received that'under the provisions of Section 19, Chapter 81, General
'~ ~'Laws, asamended by Chspter187, Acts of 1933,- that the Department of Public Works
is-:directed, at the expense of the %mmonwealth, to keep the 'following State
· .highways in North Andover cleared of snow for the fiscal year ending June 30

· -?:00' P.M.' 'with'all members present. Weekly bills and payrolls were approved.
"' STREET ACCEPTANCE:
' 'A number ~f citizen-~ from-Holbrook Road, Putnam. and Hamilton Roads, came before
- · the' board to see what could bg done about having the above streets accepted
in 'the Mifflin Park area. They felt that they were being kicked around by the
Highway Surveyor and stated that until the' streets are accepted that they 'cannot
have mail delivered, no street lights and .the~e is no fire pro.tection.
Mr~'i Thomson read the regulations on street acceptance which was adopted by the
Selectmen last year and he explained each separate requirement.
'Mr.', Carry informed .the board that there is no drainage on .the street and they
must have it or the road will heave up ever~ year. He mentioned that an article
had'been in the warrant for a sidewalk on Lyman Road but that they couldn't have
it' .nntil there was a surface drain. He said 'the water runs all over and ice forms
gl¥~'winter. He stated that the State wont let the water run over Mass. Ave.
Mr.. Salisbury stated that it is not the' town's obligation to take care of these
roads Until the stree~ are accepted. He inquired if Mr. Carty was willing to
give certification to the Selectmen that this street was in order for acceptance..
