NEW 'POST OFFICE- NORTH.ANDOVER 0afl'Thomas and John Lyons came ~forJ the Board and they represented the American ~egion. Post 219 anddiscussed the possibility of a new post office in North And6ver. They intimated that there is an existingappropriation for the erection 0f's new post office in this town and asked that the Board of Selectmen back'- up'their organization in stressing the need of this new post office.."Mr. Lyons stated that they expect to contact all other organizations in the town for their support but felt that they would like to have the Board of Selectmen have the opportunity of writing.to Senator Leverett Saltonstall, Congressman Thomas J~ Lane and Mr. Walter Myers, Fourth Assistamtt-Postmaster General'at Washington. Mr."Lyons and Mr. Thomas informed the board that they understand that Mr. Stevens agreed at one time to give the land next to the Hainsworth Insurance Office on Main Street for the use of a post office.
