A communication was received from Mrs. Bridget Dennis of 38 Ashland Street
asking that she be allowed to purchase the desks in the Union School and
she offered the price cf $7.00 for the total number (62). The board.voted~
to hold this reques~ in abeyance until the bids for the Union School have
been openbd. ...~
DAMAGE CLA~;
The board approved the bill of $110.00 to be paid to Susannah.and Arthur
Macauley for inJuries received by Mrs. Macauley when she fell at the corner
. of'Mass. Ave. and Elmwocd Street on February 19, 1949. A release has'been
signed by both parties and witnessed by Mr. 0.' ~ Mahcney, who investigated
the matter at. the request of the Board mf Selectmen.

Notice received that the Board of Appeals granted a variance to the. heirs-
