The Board voted to request 1000 lumen s~reet 1.igh~s on pole #2, Faulkner Road,
on Morris Street and on pole #1097, reques~ of C~mello Gioco, 15 Hemlock Street
and to so notify the Lawrence G & E Co.
FOSTER STREET ARTICLE:
Mr. Albert L&voie came befo~re the board to see if he' could hav~ 2000 feet
extension of water on Foster Street. He stated that his mother expects to build
a number $f houses in this area and they would like to have the water installed.
Mr. Thomson info~medhim .that an article could be inserted in the warrant and that
he should see the Advisory Board at their public meeting.
EARTH REMOVAL BY-LAW: --
'Mr. Earl Foster of Foster Street camebe£~re the board and present~a copy of
an earth removal by-law from the town of/Northborcugh and asked that the Selectmen
insert an article in mhe town ~warrant ar take some action as to having this. inserted
as a by-law of the town. We have Just received a copy of this information and
the board~will take it into consideration whe?~he by-laws are adjusted. The State ·
Planning Board recently distributed this material to the various ~cities ~and mo~s.
.COMMITTEES 'ON SPEEDING AT CHICKERING ROAD.
Mr. Coffin stated tha{ he.would like to have the various committees come in to
discuss their ideas as to traffic conditions on Chickering Road. Hedoes n~t
that the Board' should wait until the hearing is set but that they should come i~
on'Janusry 23, 1950 at 8:15 P.M. to discuss this matter in general.

Mr. Thomson stated that he may be ~ong
regulate a spe'ed zone and if so, a discussion of Committees would be helpful.
Be was perfectly willing to have' the committees in if necessary and that he hoped
they wculd be present when the hearing is h~ld.
Mr. Finneran felt t~Hat we could meet with them to get their views only. A motion
was then made that all committees be invited to meet in .the Cour~ Room on Jauuary
23, 1950 'at 8:15 P.M. and all will be notified by Ietter.
MIFFLIN PARK AREA:
The Selectmen met with the State Department officials and. t~heY, were willing ~o
remove the barriers(most of th.em, leaving two on each sideo~ · ~
WIRING INSPECTOR:
The Board discussed a w.i~ing inspector and ~eclded' that he should.be appqin~ed on~
MaY 1~' '1950 through Aprmi 30,' Of the following yea~ and that the starting salary

Sg~. Hilton requested the use of Stevens Hall for February 24, 1950 when the Boys!
Club will hold a Variety Show. The hall is available and .the hoard voted unanimeus~y
mo gra~t this request.
LA~A~ENCE G & E CO:
T~.e board voted unanimously ~o permit .this company'to excavate to install drip
on gas service at 12 Upland Street and Mr. Carty, Highway.Surveyor will be notified.
CHAPTER 90.
Notification received from the Department of .Public Works .that the tentative
19~50 ~Chap~er 90 allotments for this town are as follows: For Main 'Stree~ project,
State $8,000- Town $4,000 and County $4,000; . for maintenance, State $800-
Town $1600.
FOREST .WARDEN:
The Board voted unanimously to appoint James Hargreaves as Forest Warden for the
year 1950 as provided in General Law, Chapter 48, Section 8* Card returned for
approval by the Bts.te Fores~er.
