Member Coffin was unable ~o attend; STREET LIGHT REQUESTS: A. request for a street light was received fram Michael VZarshaw of 13 Concord Stree~ ~o be ifistalled on Pole #2123 at the corner of Princeton and Cohcord Streets'. Mr. Warshaw explained that this was very dark area and the neares~ light is about 300 feet or more on.c one. side and 500 feet on the other. The Board voted to' grant this~ request.. Mr.. Theodore Peters requested a stree't light on pole#1422 'on Dale Street '~here he is building a new home and. there is no light in the immediate vicinity. The Board voted ~o grant this request. ~ LAWRENCE G & E CO: £ petition for.~ermission to erect poles, fixtures, etc. on the easterly side of Chickering RomS, at the southerly line of Park Street, i pole; on the easterly side ~f ~hickering ~0ad, at a point approximately 130 feet southerly from P. ark Street, I pole; on the easterly side- of ~hinkering '~oad, at the northerly line of Main Street, 1 pole; on the westerly side of Chickering ~oad, at the southerly line of Parker Stre.et,, 1 pole. · The board voted to hold a hearing on this petition on February 13, 1950 at ? :30, NEW ENGLAND TEL. & TEL. CO: To copies of cancellation forms covering grants for' telephonep_oles .in North Andover ~hich are no longer required were received and acted upon favorably by the Selectmen. Ave. and on .4/10/.22, 1 pole at 22 Trinity Ct., JUROR DRAWN: Member Finneran drew the name of Russell _~, of 34 Stonington Street ~o serve a's~ a Juror on FebrUary 27, 1950 at Superior Court, Salem. Mr. Lord is.~a milkman. TREE REMOVAL REQUEST: . Mrs; Mary ~pires requested the removal of a.tree at 55 Brightwood Avenue. The tree roots interferes with the sewers. The matter was referre~ ~o the tree warden for.posting. A hearing will be. held on ~'ebruary 13, 1950 at 7:2). P,M. Mr. Wilfred Bottomley, 56 Thorndike "oad requests the removal, of a tree in front' ' of his property. The tree has a fungus grow~ch and is ap~ to fall down. at any time and this would create a hazard. Mr. Connors has inspected this tree and advises taking: it down. A hearing will be held on February 13, 1950 at.$:~O P.M. TOWN WARRANT: . . The'Board inspected the copy of the warrant and stated that it was in order for printing. · HEARING ON CREATION oF SPEED ZONE:-CHICKERING ROAD: The Board' voted to con~act the Department of Public ~orks to inquire when the public is~o be held in connection with ~creating a speed zone on Route 125, Chickering ~.'oad. We had been previously notifi.~d under date of November 23, .~hat a hearing would be held after approval of the report dated November 21,1949. BARRIERS-MIFFLIN PARK The Board voted to thank Mr. H. W. Patnmm,Acting Maintenance~ Engineer for his cooperation in hav~.'~ the barriers removed at Mifflin Park Streets. TOWN TREASURER: A communication received from James J. ~aker, treasurer, informing the board that one of~ the petitioners under Article 52, 1949 warrant, desires his deposit of $350 made'on June 23, 1949 be returned to him. This amount which was voted at the annual ~own meeting has been turned in~o the ~reamury.under da~e of December 31,. 1949. Mr. Makcr inquired if the conditions relative ~o the Selectmen's "Rules and regulations for l~ying ou~ streets,, had been complied with on or before July 1, 1949, under the abowe article. No action was taken by the board. ADVISORY BOARD: The Selectmen me= with the Advisory Board. to discuss ia general the appropriations for the year 1950. ACCIDENT ~EPORT: Edwar. d Donovan, Highway'Department employ,se reported that his ~ruc~ tail gates went through the window of a car owned by K. Flak and that she will submit an estimate in the near future. Mr. Donovan was drivinma Diamond T. truck and was backing out of Dr. Wallwork's yard when the .accident han~ened.
