Mr. Thomson suggested that a sidewalk be installed from Parker Street to Main
Street and the 'children will have to cross over at Main Street rather than
at Parker Street. In discussin sidewalks, Mr. Curry was inclined to wan% side-
walks on both side of Main Street at the two schools, cnnsidering the .lights,etc.
~ief McKee suggested that they have a wooden bike stand at ~the new school 'and
it will teach the children, to place their bikes in position and there, will be
less chance of their beings~ol~n.
Mr. Howard thought this was a good idea and. will plan %o have'then made ~n the
school.
Mr. O,Brien informed the Selectmen that the school committee would soon be turning
over the Center School building to the selectmen.he discussed the con%an~s and
hoped that the selectmen would fix a definite price for desks and chairs. He
stated that there-are some work benches which will not be use~ and perhaps some
of the various departments could use them. Mr. O'Brien .stated that he believed
that the benches, chairs, tables, etd. at the ~errimack School should be disposed
of ~for s cmo money...
Mr..Coffin said he would like to look at the contents and see what can be done
with them. Mr. Thomson stated that .when we :know Just what is available some
definite plan of procedure will bo. taken.

with all members pre.sent. ~?eekly bills and payrolls were approved.

Hearing held :on the petition of this company for permission ti lo'cate poles,
,wires and fixtures, along ,the following public .ways: Numerous streets through-
Out the town '(s~e petition dated 5/17/%O).. This pe.tition is to validate grants
for this con, any and,all poles, are existing and no new ones will be set.. How-
ever, all ab~tters were notified in accordance with the law. Mr. Beauchesne of
17. Mass. Ave. came ,before the Board because he underst6od they were .going, to re-
move a~ light ~in front of his ,property..Mr. 'Barry of'the Law. G~& E. :Company
assured him,that ho'lights ~would'be removed and he withdrew his objection.' The
,.Boa~.d voted unanimously .to -grant this request.

be abandoned.) The' Board voted unanimously to grant permission.-.

to view this. location. '
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS:
Notification received and a report~ for permission to enter .the Mass.' Ave. drain
at Hamilton & Holbrook Road has been made to the main office of this department.
.~e will be notified of their decision as soon as possible.
BOARD OF HEALTH~
Notification. received that examination of the dump site on Dale 'Street about 1/2
mile northeast of Salem Street'has been made and, shows that.the ~ump site is
located on the watershed of Lake Cochichewick, a source of water 'supply. In the
opinion of the dept.,. ,they feel that it will be difficult to meintain' this dump
and tc prevent the drainage from ultimately entering the lonblic water supply.
If the Board wishes to discuss this matter further, or obtain additional informa-
tion relative thereto, they should consult with the Division of Senitary Engineer-
ing of the Dep.t. of Public Health, Room 51lA, State House, Bosten~

Notification received that after a lengthy discussion, it was felt by the Post
members that the new playground of the town should be dedicated as a memorial to
all those in the town who made the supreme sacrifice in the recent war, rather
than name this playground after any individual.
