~he Selectmen met a~ 1:30 P.M. to sign and approve bills and payrolls .
SCHOOL BONDS:
The board signed 45 bonds issued by the First National Bank of Boston-.
$45,000 l~A per cent school bonds #1-45, dated 9/1/50 payable Sept. l,
$5,000 in 1951 and to 1959, issued pursuant ko Chapter ~4, Gert. Laws,
as amended, at price of $100.648 accrued interest.
BUILDING INSPECTOR:
The board requhsted the building inspector to instruct Allan Runeshousen
and his contractor to relocate the garage at the properly.on Fa~lkner
Road for which he had previously issued a permit.
Allan Raneshousen came before the board and after some discussion the
board voted to instruc~ the building inspector that since the building
has been started they will necessarily have to let the violation go
but the permit should not have been issued in the first instance'. They
will ask the building inspector .~o see that this does not happen again.
REQUEST FOR REMOVAL OF TREE:. . ......
A request for removal of an elm tree at 56 Elm Stree~ by Mrs. James Smith
was received amd s et down for a hearing on September ll, 1950 at 7:30 P.M.
SEPTEMBER 1, 1950:

Petition received for permission to relocate poles, wires, cables, etc.
on Chadwick St., 3~1' northeas~ of Brightwood Ave. i pole. No hearing
required. I pole to be removed.
The board granted this permission by unanimous vote.
ZAWRENCE GAS & ELECTRIC COMPANY:
Permission requested to excavate to repair gas leaks at ~ailroad Ave. near
Mass. Ave. and Aailroad Ave. a~t Trinity Court, and permission was granted.
Mr. Carry notified of this excavation.
CONTRACTS SIGNED:.
Eight copies of~centract between the Commonwealth and the Town of North
Andover were signed by the Selectmen and, by Mr. Francis Kittredge, relative
to"the Veterans Housing Project.
~P~EE REM~)VAL HEARING:
The board rece~,ved am request- for the removal of eight tr~es on Lyman Road
and a hearmng was set for September l§,1950'at 7:30 P~M~ Walter Bishop
was the petitioner. _ ~
SEPTEMBER 11, 1950:
The. regular weekly meeting~ of the Board of- Selectmen w as held at 7:00 p.M.
with all members present. ~eekly bills and payrolls v~re approved.
LAWRENCE G & .E CO:
The board vo~ed to inquire of this company why the light requested on June 27,
1950 to be installed on pole #3392, Glenwood Str. eet. had not been instslled.
Mr. Frost later stated that he would check on this- request, and see what could
b~ done to have the light installed at once.
HEARING.: ?:30 P.M.
A hearing was held oh the petition of~ this company for permission to lo
poles, wires, etc. on the northerly side of~Main Street, at a apoint
ly 240 westerly from Russell Street, 1 pole. All abutters were notified and
Rev. Alexander T~ombly was present but stated tha~ he had no objection to
this pole.
The board ~oted ko grant this petition.
~ REMOVAL HEARING: - ~ .....
A hearlhg was held on the petition of Mrs. James Smith, 56 Elm Street for
removal of a tree in front of her property and was duly posted. The board,
Voted unanimously to request the tree warden to remove this .+.ree. No
opposition was presented.
